The bidding price for that Parker has already reached £350+...

I will not be surprised if we see the closing price hitting £450  tonight ;)

Yes, and I'm afraid I don't want it that badly, so I won't be bidding on it. I appreciate the tip anyway. Only 90 minutes to go, and I expect any more significant activity will happen in the last minute.

I am not bidding on this occasion either though the pen is absolutely marvelous...

Less than an hour left to see the record price for 51 this year so far ;)

All the best is only beginning now...

By the way, I meant to ask, is it unusual that it has a maroon hood? I would have expected black, like all the other metal P51's I've seen.

Holy cow, 820 pounds, or over $900! Sniped at the last second, of course, beating out another bid for 800 pounds.

Usually, I am not surprised by prices nowadays, but this silver P51 fetched the price I have been really amazed :)

Just a thought: how after that can anyone seriously consider that (bleep) called NG51 ;) LOL ;)

Paul, well... I have had exactly the same questions once I saw this pen listed...

I will ask one very reputable British Parker expert about that next week.

It is a spectacular sight.

The Mexican Insignia clip differs from neither the Argentine 45 clip, nor the Brazilian 45 clip, nor the 61 type 45 clip for the Japanese market.

What clip would you call it?

At the moment, I'm calling it the Mexican clip. I've looked through the Parker pens that I have, and I cannot find a match.

When I have the time I'll try an online search.

Yes. Very pleased with it and got at a very good price. Curiously there is nothing on the cap to show gold content. I don't know if they dropped this on later models or it's oversight? Have learnt nothing is straight forward with Parkers, always something about them.

I recall an example of a Parker 45 that had no engraving on the custom cap regarding gold other than the "PP" hallmark.

I don't know why, but does it vary by era or region?

I think there was a reason at the time that we don't know now. There are many strange things.
