A timely find, I had put a snipe on this pen when it was on auction during the ten days of the late Queen Elizabeth's mourning period. I lucked out and received it this week from London. The pen was originally made in the Canadian Parker factory, and exhibits, among other things, the lovely flexible nibs that enterprise was known for. The only real flaw is that the affixing of the crown element on the cap has had an effect on the hard rubber, which I'll correct, but the inscription on the barrel is still very clear. I'll use this when his grandson is crowned in the coming months.

I'm going with a ballpoint pen too.

Parker B5 Big Arrow Burgundy and Parker Multy.

The color version of the former is unknown.

The latter may be made in Japan. A well-known soft drink sales company performed its function as an amenity in Japan.

🤯

thank you for the multy link.. this thing hurts my head. I can’t imagine why it never really took off… (need for a “sarcasm font” intensifies…)

And yet, now that i know it exists… if i see one, i will likely buy it… ha ha so i guess marketing does work…

congrats on your recent additions :)

Just give me the Parker 51s and nobody needs to get hurt.

Thank you.

The length when combined is 112mm by simple measurement, and when left as just a ballpoint pen, it is a small, light plastic pen measuring 105mm.

It would be useful to fill a basket with many pens and hand them out one at a time.

It says they were produced in black and white, but I have seen red ones.

There is no country of manufacture label on the body. The box says PARKER Japan K.K., so I think it may have been made in Japan.

Due to the nature of the product, PARKER is also not marked on the body.

Only "Multy" product logo is on the side of the body (Cap top? Or barrel end?) when combined.

Well, I suppose you could use the  or B) .gifs (or both together) in a pinch....

As for me, I'm trying to figure out in my head how the different parts hooked together -- and whether they ended up as a de facto 4 -- or 10 -- color pen like this one: https://www.officedepot.com/a/products/788586/Yafa-Multifunction-10-Color-Ballpoint-Pen/

Back on topic, I just was the high bidder (okay, I was the ONLY bidder) on a Parker 61 Flighter earlier this evening.  Missing the hood arrow, and may need some nib work (and it will be interesting to see how many months of reconstituting the ink in the capillary filler I can get out of it before the ink is so diluted it's illegible on the page -- with my first 61 it was about 3 or 4 MONTHS, as I recall... :o).

Congrats. Worst case scenario, you can just take a black 61 that needs a barrel and swap on the flighter cap and barrel! :)

I recently got another Parker 51 Aerometric, this one made in Argentina of polished aluminum (I haven't received it yet, so no photo). I thought it would go nicely with the steel Flighter and gold-filled Insignia that I got earlier in the year, as an all-metal P51 trio.

Here's a photo of the threesome. The new, polished aluminum pen is the one in the middle. It could use a little more polishing to be as shiny as it wants to be. p.s. perspective is not my friend here, all three pens are the same size.

Have been unwell for a few weeks, and what else are you going to do, other than browse the net for more pens?

One of my finds is this 45 Flighter with Rage Red section and tassie.

Nice pen.

I'm wondering though, if the cap is correct.

The nib is steel made in England.

The cap is Made in U.S.A. with a dimple top,  45 on the side, and a date code of AC - 1982?

I've always understood that these pens dated to the 1960's or 70's.

So, Parker People, Any ideas? Do any of you have Flighters with coloured section and tassie.

If so, what nibs do they have, and what cap type?

Cheers.

Hello.

Are you feeling well?

I sincerely hope you are in good health.

Parker 45 flighters with rage red end pieces are common in Japan.

Burgundy and navy blue are also rare in the used market.

I have two Rage Red, two Navy Blue, and one Burgundy, all made in the USA, with dimple tassie cap tops, 14k nibs, and no date code. I checked before posting just to be sure.

Where did your new friends come from?

Thanks 99. I'm much better, and back to good health.

Thanks for your feedback.

This example came from Thailand.

I would have been happy with the dimple cap and no date code, or an inverted cone cap.

I'm actually happy with the dated cap. Makes it interesting.

Definitely on the look out for burgundy and blue variants!

The last Parker I bought was a 1970's Jotter with the Dallas Cowboys  on it. Trying to add to the collection of NFL football Jotters from the 1970's [ Before Seattle & Tampa Bay ] joined the league.

I have 3 Dallas Cowboy Jotters & 2 Green Bay Packer Jotters.

Always looking for the other teams.

It’s in the mail, when I have it in hand all cleaned up I’ll post some- none of the listing pictures show the pen off very well.

Congratulations. I must go back to buy black 51 pens and maybe I will find a plum one.

Well, the 61 Flighter is here (sadly, the mail came after I left for a pen club meeting). No cracks that I can see on the hood (but of course no arrow); the nib does seem to curl up a bit (although I haven't had a chance to compare it to the other 61s I own yet).  But, if there is a problem?  The Ohio Pen Show is coming up, and there will be repair and nib people there.  And of course I know how to flush a capillary filler.... B)

Hi folks,

This morning I found a First Year Double Jewel Parker "51" in the wild. It's in pretty nice shape, and has ALL the first year markers.

I hope this is encouraging to all those like me who scour antique malls and yard sales and fleamarkets for the hidden treasures 🙂

Best to all,

Ralf
