I'm afraid that I don't know enough about Parker pens to comment one way or the other.

I will say, though, that the clip on mine does look like the one in this old listing on Peyton Street Pens.

I'm sorry.

I am familiar with the pen clip on the site you link to.

To me the sidelines of your pen clip looked uniformly straight like a ridge clip...

And I thought your pen might be a rare pen.

Thank you very much.

Had a package from Argentina. All the FP's are 45's, all have the 61 style clip, all have peaked cap tops and barrel ends, and all have steel nibs with unmarked collars. None of the pens have date codes.

Very nice! I have never stepped deeply into the differences in the Argentine Parkers, but I am aware that the differences exist. I have a simlar Parker 61 that I really like. The depth of the blue is notable, and the gold plating is very deep in color, quite a bit different than most I've seen. That the arrow is replaced with two little stud icons is fine by me.

I’m pretty sure my latest has never been inked because it’s not even a real pen! I figured maybe someone had tried to make a 51-style pen that took a ballpoint refill from the front, but the cap looked too perfect to pass up. I was wrong. @FarmBoy, our friendly neighborhood encyclopedia parkeranica, kindly informed me it’s a dummy 51 Aero. I actually got it kind of by accident. The box has two holes in the bottom perhaps for screwing it into a display.

As neat as it is, I’ll probably part with it after a while to fund other things. In the meantime, it’s sure neat to look at!

I recently got another Parker 51 Aerometric, this one made in Argentina of polished aluminum (I haven't received it yet, so no photo). I thought it would go nicely with the steel Flighter and gold-filled Insignia that I got earlier in the year, as an all-metal P51 trio.

A black aerometric Parker 51.  Nothing particularly special about that.  However, it was my Dad’s and he died last week.  It’s cap jewel is missing, the clip is broken, and it has a broad nib, which doesn’t suit my writing.  I gave it a good soaking, and after the dried ink came out, the next to come out was a brown goo.  I already have a 51 that’s filled with Diamine Sapphire ink, but that’s not the point.

Its off to the mender for an overhaul, replacement clip and jewel together with a new fine nib.  This pen will then be used with Diamine Majestic Purple ink, and I’ll remember my Dad.

That's so cool.

Whenever I'm in the kitchen, I still look for that elusive nib.  It probably landed in an inaccessible area.  "The horror, the horror!"

I used to do a lot of vintage watch restoration.  In that process, I learnt of the existence of alternate universes.  Tiny screws and springs would be right there in the special compartmented trays one uses to keep all the microparts sorted, and then poof they were gone.  No amount of searching with magnets or vacuuming with a nylon stocking over the intake would find them.  Some rematerialized months or even years later as the universes intersected again.  That is the only logical explanation.  There is another total eclipse in April 2024 - try looking again then.

It's either that or your kitchen is infested with magpies or ferrets (I understand that both like "shiny" things).... B)

I did that with the 21 I bought a few weeks ago at an estate sale.  Dunno what the ink was (some sort of now diluted blue or blue black, but not a teal-leaning blue black).

But it reminded me of back when I bought my first 21 (which sadly got cracking in the hood), and how well that pen wrote, and was going "if this pen is THIS nice, just IMAGINE what writing with a 51 will be like...."

The nibs on 21 Supers are the same as on the “51” Specials. So i hope when the hood cracked you didn’t bin the pen…

Just give me the Parker 51s and nobody needs to get hurt.

A timely find, I had put a snipe on this pen when it was on auction during the ten days of the late Queen Elizabeth's mourning period. I lucked out and received it this week from London. The pen was originally made in the Canadian Parker factory, and exhibits, among other things, the lovely flexible nibs that enterprise was known for. The only real flaw is that the affixing of the crown element on the cap has had an effect on the hard rubber, which I'll correct, but the inscription on the barrel is still very clear. I'll use this when his grandson is crowned in the coming months.

I have had a Parker black and cream Duofold rollerball for 25 years I never used. I got a nib/section from Pen Heaven that fit perfectly but I found that the converter would not fit. Neither would cartridges.

I was going to see if someone could drill out the body to accommodate the converter.  One of my friends had the bright idea to try a Kaweco push/pull converter. It didn't fit since it is an international style, but a little work with my Dremel and voila..I have a new Parker fountain pen! I love it.

No, I was able to get a spare hood and innards (which I didn't really need) but never got around to replacing the hood (fortunately Burgundy is a common color).

ETA: I don't think I have any 21 Supers, though -- just a few "regular" 21s.  Although I do seem to recall reading that when the 41s were phased out, a lot of the unused parts went into making 21 Supers.

Hummm. I don’t recall reading or writing that.

Oh I didn't say that you were the source.  I may have read it on Tony Fischier's site, when I was looking up information on the 41 I found in a shoebox full of mostly ballpoints a few years ago at an estate sale.  Paid 50¢ US for it, then had it appraised the next day at a thing that was like a local version of Antiques Road Show and was sort of staggered at the appraisal value (I really thought that the highlight of the pens I'd brought would be the 1926 Lucky Curve Duofold I'd paid twelve bucks for (down from the sticker price of $26).

I was stating there is no overlap between 41 and 21 Super body parts.

Latest pen for me is a english Duofold pen and pencil set (L3) . Date code on the barrel looks to be 4 and the code on the nib is 34. Although chalk mark is there and the pen looks to have never been filled, barrel imprint is rather weak :(.
