An unstained crystal is a natural beauty. I can only assume that the original pen may have been colorless-clear.

I suspect it would have had a noticeable green tinge to it, no?

I would not know. The clear Parker and Sager celluloid pens I have are straw colored, if they have not been ambered by ink. I am guessing they would have been clear similar to the clear/transparent color of the laminated Vacumatics.

Oh, go on!  Otherwise it's just an ornament........  ;)

I don't think I will do that because it is with Lustralloy cap I don't like it ;) I will keep it just as a part of my Parker collection :)

All the best is only beginning now...

I picked up a few Parkers at an auction on Sat.4/9. Two of my competition likes to pay full retail for pens, one man told me awhile back that those two have really ruin the wholesale market

for buying pens in the area. Oh well. Here is what I picked up.

There will always be another auction somewhere someday.

I still need to go thru the breakdown on an average cost per pen. I know I overpaid on some and did well on others.

I found this nice striped Duofold yesterday at a local home design store that has a small antiques section.

A "True Blue" Streamlined model from 1929 or so. Button filler, Fine or EF nib. Came in the (possibly) original box with a matching pencil. Sort of a 2nd-tier Duofold, more slender and with a smaller nib. Fairly collectible, I think.

I have to follow up and say that I love writing with this pen. The nib is supple and responsive, and although the pen is more slender than I thought I would really like, it just disappears when I'm writing and I don't notice the size. One of my happier finds.

Very nice!  That's my favorite color for the Laidtones, followed by Dusty Rose.

Is that a button filler or a Vac filler?  I can't tell from the photo.

Thank you. It's my favorite color, too. This one is a Vac filler with an aluminum speedline filler. My first Striped Duofold to have the earlier, metal filler.

I just received today from an Ebay purchase a Parker 75 "Flighter" with the American Airlines logo as the cap jewel, with a medium 14K nib.  To my pleasant surprise, in the box also was the Parker 75 nib adjustment tool, which can be used to turn the nib unit to the position desired.  It comes in particularly handy if you've already inked the pen.  Here are relevant photos, the first one being one I took, and the other two from the internet.

My grandfather gave me his classic Parker 75, the nib is butter smooth even though it was unused for decades and performs exceptionally! It has a fine nib, yet the F nib is indeed finer than an F nib. Love it.

Cheers,

Ian

Very nice….I’m jealous!

Yeah, so am I!

I'd been having trouble with ink leaking through the collar on my 75, and someone recommended I pull the nib and feed to make sure there wasn't any sort of corrosion.  And that gadget would be amazingly useful....

I think Dale over at Pentooling sells a version of that tool. Can’t remember the price, but I recall thinking it was reasonable.

Yeah, I think I've seen it available for $15 there or a similar site.

Great!  I may look at their website and/or talk to them at the next pen show that they and I are both at!

This one I’m really, really happy I found. I picked up this Vacumatic Imperial from Fountain Pen Hospital’s Pen Expo yesterday. It has a really nice broad nib and is currently inked with Herbin’s bleu des profondeurs.
