A very pretty pen that I’m glad you enjoy. For some reason I only like M nibs on these 75’s. Have yet to find a F nib that works well for me.

Interesting...

One of my daily pens is P75, France 1985, with a US 14k F nib.

And I find this nib the best Fine one I ever used...

All the best is only beginning now...

I was fortunate to attend a pen show to find this beauty - a Vacuum Filler Demonstrator “Not for Sale”.

I have been lucky to previously find a Vac Crystal and a Silver Vacuum Filler. I had assumed the Demonstrator was similar to the Vac Crystal. I was surprised to find it was a vacuum filler.

Like other demonstrator I just assumed that these pens were clear to show the inner workings of the pen, I never thought that the demonstrator would be a fully functional pen, similar to the Vac Crystal.

I am guessing the Vac Crystal came after the Demonstrator, otherwise why not just use the Crystal as a demonstration pen.

One learns something new everyday. Three great early pens.

Wow.  That's really cool.  I don't think I've ever seen a Vac Demonstrator OR a Vac Crystal before.  Thanks for posting the pix!

I've been a little interested in Challengers lately, I've acquired two Deluxe (silver/black full size, red marble small) and a Royal (brown small, no sword clip). I think I'm done, though, my curiosity is satisfied.

Otherwise, a black vintage Duofold Senior Streamlined, with a Fine nib.

Ruth

You are welcome. I started collecting the Vac Crystal and ended up with these beauties…I have studied how Parker may have made their typical celluloid laminated pens, but I have been puzzled how they would have made the Crystal Pen. I can only assume that there were many rejects as the seam between the transparent section and the solid threaded end of the barrel for the filler is almost non-existent. The inside of the barrel is also smooth without a vertical seam, which begs the question whether or not it was polished after the it was drilled out, or if they took a flat sheet and welded it into a cylinder, similar to how the Golden Web/Brown Vacs were made. An unstained crystal is a natural beauty. I can only assume that the original pen may have been colorless-clear.

Going through pens that I picked up last fall I found a Parker Doric Sterling BP twist pen.

Black P51, RG cap with a broad nib.  Picked up on the 'bay for what I considered a modest outlay for a pen in very good condition with a desirable (to me) nib.  It had been thoroughly cleaned and (almost inevitably) writes beautifully.  Quick snap attached.....   I'm not really sure why I bought it as I'd thought my P51 buying days were in the past, but I had a sudden hankering for a black one with a gold cap.  There is something just...... classy about the combination.  :)

In the past months I have bought off ebay two P51s, first was an MK III with oblique nib in pristine condition; second has been a MK I also with oblique nib in very good condition but worst than the MK III.

Interesting the differences between both nibs. First (MK III) is broader, a tad less italic that the second (MK I).

I have never been into buying P51s but...great pens indeed, very comfy and a joy to use. I love the aerometric filling system, very easy to fill.

Totally agree :) Glossy black with RG cap is unbeatable best combination for 51s.

And I should say the same regarding 61s, too.

My daily 51 is exactly black+RG cap Aero, and daily 61 is black with Rainbow cap :)

To be honest, I do like burgundy 51s with RG caps as well, but always getting back to my black one :)

I've owned black 51s before but never one with a gold cap.  It's a very stylish thing and this one has the bonus of writing as well as it looks!

Three of my four 51s are brilliant writers, but I don't know about my 4th one... because it is NOS and I have never inked it :)

I bought a new Urban in a brushed metal finish, it writes nicely for me and have on the way a 45 and another I don't know but think is another 45 anyhow they cost less than buying convertors for and include them so possibly not to bad.

I’ll call this one new because I had Pendleton Brown do one of his nibs on a 45 for me. I also traded for a Rage Red 51 by Kullock and then also a beautiful Urushi 51 at the Atlanta show.

Carguy,

I would love to know more about the Urushi "51".  Are any pics of it available?

I'm just learning about vintage Parkers since I was lucky enough to stumble upon one at an antique store a couple months back. It is in very clean/looksw unused condition. Burgundy/Lustraloy,pearly-grey jewel.

Hate that I missed the Atlanta show;wanted to go bad but, alas,it was not to be. Never been to a pen show before.

I found a Parker "51" with a stub nib for sale on line. Thinking that would be nice; but,the price is a bit much for me at about $220 with rolled silver(?) cap. I can't spend that much without seeing it face-to-face.

In the meantime I'm enjoying my one and only 51 with what I think is a medium(gold?) nib. I have trouble telling colors and my vision is not as good as I might wish it to be.

   LOVE the Parker 51 !

I had never seen one like this before but I knew I just HAD to have it! I gave up WAY TOO MUCH in trade because of that…

AWESOME pens,sir!

Thank you for the nice pics.

The Urushi is breathtakingly,heartachingly beautiful.

Maybe a good thing I didn't go to the Atlanta show. I'd be eating Top Ramen for a long time.
