I just got my first burgundy pearl vacumatic, it’s a Canadian Junior,  dated second quarter 1952 with the correct nib. The colors on these sure are vibrant.

I got this beautiful Burgundy Pearl Maxima from my family on Christmas. The pen is an absolute joy to write and draw with.

What a wonderful family that knows your interests well enough to find a beautiful pen like this. To my mind, better than the actual gift.

I picked up a turquoise 61 capillary simply because I wanted the rainbow cap that was on it. That being said, it arrived with obvious signs of having been inked and of course dried out. I filled it with water and some Rapid Eze intending to clean it out, but it started writing REALLY well, so I simply added some Serenity Blue and will leave it inked.

I am simply amazed with how much luck I’ve had with these capillary fillers….knock on wood!

I completely agree. I was very surprised and touched to see the thought they put in to finding such a pen.

A Parker "Depression" button filer from the 1930's ? [ The nib is marked: "PARKER PEN" "MADE IN USA" "45"] The nib is a medium stub and fairly soft. Fantastic writer with great line character.

Anyone know what the "45" signifies? Could it be a mid 1940's marking?

The capillary fillers hold a tremendous amount of ink.  I used my first 61 for several months, just on reconstituting the dried ink when the pen ran dry, until the ink was too diluted to be legible on the page.

I just wish that the material used for the barrels was that robust....

Go with the metal pens vs plastic.

Parker 45 flighter FP+Pencil set
The FP has a EF or A nib, can't tell from the collar as the nib unit was mangled

I've never run across any of the metal body 61s.

Here are a few.

The two on the left are C/C though. The flighter GT at #3 (from left) and the Insignia FP+BP set on the far right are capillary fillers.

mitto: are the caps and barrels of the cartridge/converter and the capillary fillers interchangeable?

The caps are interchangable. But the barrels are not.
