Here is mine with the 3k cap. Under normal light it is  a dark blue but with light on it, it comes alive.

That said, I have had bad luck with my Van Gogh & to draw on a recent thread it's been my "clown car" pen. They are quite comely though.

The pen I bought second hand was the first model, with the old clip. The musk color doesn't show up very well in the pictures, but you can compare the nib size to the Pelikan M800; it's larger and sleeker and writes beautifully. A bouncing and semiflex nib masterpiece!.
