Extra Fine Nib Ink Review: Robert Oster Caffe Crema

This is review #10 in my series, with 100+ to go... It is the first review with the camera closer to the page so it's taking up more of the screen - hopefully easier to read / view the text. This will be the norm from now on.

Here's the YouTube video:

And here is a screen of the final result, for those not interested in the video:

NiIce. This looks visually more appealing than the other reviews, despite the ink's reluctance to cooperate...Keep on the good work :)

Thanks! Caffe Crema really is a very attractive ink. It's also one that benefits from trying it out to find the ideal nib for it.

Thanks for the review. I really like this format. The ink looks nice, but for some reason my brown inks fail to get much use. Basically - they only get used in my brown pens. I have a sample of this ink, but haven’t tried it yet. Might give it a go when I next ink up my Pelikan Brown Tortoise.

 I don't usually match ink and pen colors, but I do tend to match ink and pen based on past performance. But most of the time, I'm just in the mood for a given nib, or a given ink, and look through my collection of the other to find something that looks like it'll work well. (Somewhere, someone not of our obsession is reading this and thinking, "She's nuts!")

Another great review. I got a sample of this ink to use in my Pelikan Cafe Creme. When I reached the free ink from Pen Chalet’s free ink program, I chose this ink for my free bottle.

It did shade well with the italic nib on my Cafe Creme.

Glad to see this one early on.

Thanks! Yes, a nice wet Pelikan would be perfect for this ink. And frankly, after the ink I'm currently testing, my opinion of Caffe Crema is rising - dry, sure, not super-lubricated, but not unpleasant to write with.

Nice color. I'm a fan of brown inks!

I was surprised to fine I am too! :D

Here's the line width measurement. The line is one of those used for dry time.  Magnification is 100x.  The grid is 100x100µm.  The scale is 330µm, with eleven divisions of 30µm each.  The line width for this ink is roughly 270µm.
