Parker 45 caps with "Made in Spain" or "Made in France" imprint are quite common (in Europe) so I guess that at least the caps were made there.

Hello donnweinberg You have the best collection of Parker 45’s I have ever seen. They are all quite remarkable. A great many thanks for adding your image. If I may say there is a rare Parker colour called Dark Blue Parker coded it 16 – it was used from late 1968, mainly on Parker 61 Mk III’s. Am very aware of the difference between Lucite and the later ( 1961 onwards ) use of plastic moulding on 45’s For gammada Have attached something for you that may or may not be of interest - Parker worldwide production details.

Wow! This is amazing. Thank you very much for this info. I had read about Brazil and Germany, but never seen any pen made or assembled there. Guess, there's still a world of Parker pens to find!

@ Slimfish - here's a picture of two Midnight Blue 45s I picked up recently as a job lot with an Olive Green 45 Classic, shown with a Black Arrow for comparison.

 

 

In some light the blue looks almost black unless there is a black for comparison.

It appears that I already have some 45’s in this colour…….possibly

This reference should have mentioned I understand the colour production difficulties, between Dupont Lucite and the Parker injection moulding plastics that were used on post 1961 Parker pens P45, 51 Mk III, 61 et al . Over time, many actually change their colour hue when exposed to natural light.

Looking at the picture you posted I think you may be right as only one of the Classics looks black, the other two look dark blue. I've found the same with the "51", Midnight blue looks black at the first glance.

 

Regarding colour changes over time, I have a dove grey "51" where there is a noticeable difference between the section and that part of the barrel normally covered by the cap and the rest of the barrel.

I have 2 "Kullock" 45s. I have not been able to remove the nibs in mine either. The yellow is very bright as you noted. The ends of the barrels on mine appear convex. The purple more pointed and the yellow slightly rounded.

I am still on the lookout for a pink 45 FP. I have been able to get a ballpoint 45 though. The cap reads "Industria Argentina."

I have been searching "Parker 45 Pink" for awhile now, but eBay's response is just to at me.

I really liked looking at your AK 45 FP’s & your Argentina BP.

 

Thought both your FP’s are really quite impressive

 

Personally I have always thought what he did with Parker pens was very clever.

 

Obviously the purist collectors will not agree.

 

 

Have a few AK 51’s but will not add any images here ( will try to stay on topic )

here is a pink Parker 45 Arrow for sale but it appears that you have to buy the whole series.

Very interesting P45’s – what great colours.

 

They look like 45 Customs without the lower cap metal band and in CT as opposed to RG.

 

Only ever seen one other white Parker pen before – a P61 capillary prototype.

 

Have one P45 from Argentina, the quality is the same as Arrow Park and Newhaven. They had the same Parker tooling and production process.

The seller represented that the pens were Parkers from the 1970s, manufactured in Argentina. We now know that Parker also had an Argentine factory.

Recently I purchased these ballpoints that were sold as 45s from Argentina. I got them at a very good price and thought they'd be interesting to compare to "verified" 45s. I'm wondering now if the group of pens for sale are the fountain pen versions of these. I still question if these are authentic 45s or a different "student" pen that is actually a different model.

 

Anyone know more about these Betas?

I see your point, the pens do not look right to me either. But I previously referred to this webpage on the history of Parker Argentina: it explains that the Argentina factory definitely produced their own Parker pen models. I would catalogue these ballpoints in the "Parker 45 Arrow" series (plastic cap) but your blisters mention "Beta" only, no reference to "45". So it is unclear whether these pens (Ballpoints & accompanying fountain pens) were ever marketed as "45".

 

It is nice that you show these Argentina ballpoints in their original packaging. The interesting thing to me is that red swirl/scribble below the "Beta" imprint is something that Parker typically used in publications of the 1985-1988 period. That would mean that these ballpoints are very late Parker Argentina production and most likely not 1970s.

 

Is there additional info on the back of the blister?

The back of the blister packs are totally blank.

 

The more 45s I see from Argentina, the more little variations I see. All of the strange 45s I have are from there. I can only guess that Parker kept loose reigns on that factory and chose to let them run things a little different.
