Yeah I need a Black one, I am waiting on the green with a BB nib (Nib is on backorder), and the Blue is one of my favorites.

Where are they available for that price? Seems quite a bargain, but haven't found them advertised at that level...

I haven't seen them advertised at those prices myself. At least one eastern US seller has an additional product catalogue, to which exclusive access is "by invite or referral" only, for repeat customers; and I had to go look to find those particular offers to which I referred, as opposed to have it pushed to me (by email or otherwise) actively soliciting my interest in those items.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

I learned long ago not to believe anything without proof. Feel free to post the evidence, otherwise... yeah, well...

Too many pens; too little writing.

Doubt away, by all means. That "exclusive" catalogue requires login credentials to access, so if it isn't available to you to retrieve for yourself, then even if I post a screenshot showing the product and the price (necessarily removing what would identify either me or the site specifics), you could just as easily as accusingaccuse me of doctoring the price on the image anyway. As far as I am concerned, I was sharing a tidbit of information in the course of discussion, not sharing access to the product pricing.

The main point I was making was that the price tags on colour-of-the-year limited edition Aurora 8"88" and Optima 365 models can easily rival that of the Internazionale, and so as an fan and prospective buyer of Aurora pens, I don't find the Internazionale overpriced; only that, for my money, there are Ottantotto and Optima models that appeal more (but the latest lemon yellow '365' and the Caleidoscopio Luce Blu are a bit too out-there for me).

(My screenshot and comments in reply now redacted.)

Again, my point was — for the purposes of discussion — the Aurora Internazionale is offered (and not exclusively to only me) new at the aforementioned prices in the market, and hopefully that helps fill in part of the picture (so to speak) of the pen model in review. If someone thinks US$895 is too much to pay for the pen, then perhaps it is indeed so and I'm not at all trying to invalidate the sentiment; you could even say I'm supporting his/her position. I don't think US$550 is too much to pay for this at all; but I simply have "better uses" for that amount of money in accordance with my personal preferences.

There's a reason why this information wasn't posted in the Market Watch forum, so please understand the intent.

Thank you for posting. I do not doubt the authenticity of the screenshot, although I find it strange that the pen - at least if it is new - can be retailed for such an amount and still allow the seller to make a profit. They must run a very high volume, low margin business (though how high can the volumes be in the pen world?).

I have ordered a black, and though I received a very good price from my usual Aurora affiliate, it is far higher than that advertised on your posted site...

Too many pens; too little writing.

I have 4 or 5 Aurora's and love all of them. I've gifted a number of Ipsilons over the years that are well received but I don't want one of those. Yours are stunning!

Im interested by this thread and the Internazionale. Unfortunately, they are very rarely discounted to the $500 range which is my max - after that, I usually have less joy in a pen.

It's still being offered for US$497.50, just as I 'reported' a few days ago. (Yes, I just checked.)

This is my first pen review but I do not see anything else about the Aurora Internazionale in this forum so I hope it will be of interest to some of you. I own two, which tells you something about my opinion of the pen. I haven’t suggested any ratings simply because I find the qualitative descriptions most helpful when I read other reviews.

Hi, congratulations for the review! I have the blue one and it is one of my favourite fountain pen.

I took it in February 2019 at the Aurora museum("Officina della Scrittura"), near the factory, in Abbadia di Stura (Turin, Italy).

Ah, that’s really cool to know it’s your photo, Firefox, and to find out where it was taken. Thanks. It would be nice to visit the Aurora museum some day.

Gald to have been of some help. In normal times the factory and the museum can be visited by appointment (Link).

Hmmm! I just saw the (modern) green one available to be ordered for ~US$470. The black and blue ones don't do it for me, but I'm more than a little tempted by the green on at that price.

It’s certainly a very good pen for that price, although only you can speak for your preferences. If you do go for it I would be very interested to hear your thoughts as someone who enjoys other Auroras.

Whereas the green doesn't interest me but the blue one reminds me of vintage pens in the Lapis finish (such as a 1930s era Parker, or a Pelikan 100 I saw on eBay a few years ago that I couldn't afford).

If the vendor can be shared

This time, I can. That's the pre-order price from EndlessPens. I just tried loading the product page in a new ‘incognito’ web browser instance, and can confirm that price is in fact available to nominally everyone, with a choice of nib widths at this point; and I could add it to the shopping cart without having logged in to any account. The black one is also available for the same pre-order price, but the EF nib is the only ‘option’ now.

… and not any more, not even after I logged into my account. The price is now US$627; all the prices of the items in my cart from before have been adjusted. That's actually beneficial to me, because it quashes my irrational FOMO — on a very good deal in the market, but on a pen I don't really love the look of all that much.

I got my Aurora 8"88" Giove from them for about US$400 back in October, so I'm very happy with that and should think myself content.

Thank you a smug dill! The green one has gone completely and as you say black is only available in EF which I cannot use. Nevertheless I appreciate the heads up it was still a great deal. Hopefully I will have better luck next time!
