I am a bit surprised by this price

Keeps the riff-raff out.  And that would include me.  Happily I also have a 2018 Minimalistica.

Add lightness and simplicate.

Actually not surprised as individual parts are always more expensive, on a percentage basis, than the whole. Also the Conid prices have risen significantly since the Pandemic.

Me too. I had planned to sell one of my two Conids.  Now I'm rethinking....

This is fair, and I was expecting the cap to be the price of many other nice pens.

I was hoping for around €200. I figured that the pen body and filling mechanism are more complex and challenging to produce and would constitute a larger portion of the price. My expectation was also based on my experience of ordering a clip-less cap ring with my Minimalistica+ (€12).

I guess I'll try to embrace the wabi-sabi of my clear cap.

Thanks for sharing your experience. When I originally ordered by Minimalistica all those years ago, for reasons I don't remember, opted to go clipless. This is a decision I regret each time my pen starts to roll off the table.

And thanks to your information I conclude that I will simply live with the pen as it is. Too expensive for me to willy-nilly order a new one just to have a clip.

As to the current pricing, my guess is they don't have a giant bin of spare parts. Thus  replacements may be made to order and therefore costly.

@sketchstack You can also just buy a spare clip. I bought a spare clip a few years ago for my Kingsize. I think it was €80.

I received an update on this over the weekend from Yves at Penworld.

Conid - through Penworld - will sell me a Delrin cap with clip and finial for €300 (VAT excluded).

I am a bit surprised by this price for several reasons, and I will probably forgo placing an order. For one, the nib-less Minimalistica that was available on Penworld this summer was €488.43 (VAT excluded). I'm surprised the cap is over 60% of the price, especially since I was looking for a Delrin and not a titanium finial. The second is that the nib-less price of my Minimalistica in 2018 was €292. Even with inflation, that's only ~€350.

Penworld sent me a follow-up email that they now have just the Delrin cap "sleeve" that they can sell for €100 (no clip/ring or finial). This is OK with me since that's the part I originally wanted to purchase anyway.

Sorry, I was probably wrong, because the clipless cap is probably a piece construction, and the finial can't be screwed off to put on a clip.

The clipless "ring" and the clipped "ring" are interchangeable on the Minimalistica. I have both of those parts (just not two full caps). See the second video on this page: https://www.conidpen.com/support/how-to-replace-a-clip/.

The clip -being made out of a solid bar of titanium - is the most expensive part of any Bulkfiller......

Thanks anyways. I've decided the cheapest and most successful fix is to simply be happy with that I have 😊

Holy moly, that's got to be a new record!

The latest batch of Conids released through Penworld (the regular demonstrator) just sold out in less than 30 minutes! 😯

Hundreds of flowers in spring, the moon in autumn,
The cool breeze in summer and snow in winter;
If there is no vain cloud in your mind,
for you it is a good season.

I'll make do with my bulk-filler w/CAISO. 😁

Does anyone know if nib units in the latest Conid regular can be simply swapped-out with a non-Conid standard Bock #6 nib unit?

Thanks in advance for your feedback :)
