New Vintages (And My Largest One Yet) Waterman 55 + Sheaffer Balance

Just received these from Canada (part of a trade deal, packing up my offering soon).

Waterman 55 in a dark woodgrain ebonite with a 14K Flexible #5 Ideal nib (starts out medium width, and I'm told by the previous owner it can go more than I wrote below, but that's my comfort limit on pressure). Canadian made.

Sheaffer Balance (standard size) with ebonized pearl flakes, with a Fine~medium 14K Feathertouch nib.

And a small gold Eversharp/Wahl pencil given as a gift fitted with some Batch 84-16 "Flexible Lead" in it (may need to find more of this stuff for my Rosewood Eversharp pencil).

And this is a comparison picture he sent me of the 55 next to a Montblanc 149.

A very solid start. Many people begin with Waterman, Wahl and Shaeffer pens. The Waterman 55 you snagged looks in good condition, the Shaeffer black and pearl has the color shift which is found in all of them from that era. Your Conklin has surprisingly low wear. You should be happy with your finds. BTW, very good photography on those pens.

Nice pens. I love Watermans from 55 and above. I have a 56 red ripple I would love to get a new clip for and box lever for since the size is great. My 18 psf is the largest I own and that one is killer pen. Good luck with your new pen.

It's been about 6 years since the "start" (gallery of the "collection" over time, as my goal since 2016 is to reduce the number I have but of higher cachet or quality each http://imgur.com/a/hbvykbS)

Here's a shot of the Conklin during the same session.
