I didn't forget about this thread...I'm still waiting for my Bauxpens to arrive. USPS is slow for some reason (COVID?).

My Bauxpens arrived yesterday. Two without any printing and one with the "Baux" logo. Having played with them all evening, I'm impressed. They're nicely machined, are anodized evenly in vivid colors (I got purple, red, and blue), and are pleasant to write with. The titanium grip is noticeably heavier than the aluminum grip. All grips provide good traction, even the bare aluminum grip. I was pleased to learn that the grips are threaded into the bodies, so I can mix and match grips and bodies if I so desire.

It's a little weird to have the plastic Bic caps and collars mated with a nice metal body, but I was aware of that when I made my purchase, so no regrets.

Interesting, and thanks for the link. I had to smile a bit at the "anti-microbial, anti-viral" description, very much a sign of the times. And the photos don't show a cap, so hopefully the regular Bic plastic caps fit. You'd want them so that the pocket clip part could at least act as a roll stopper when you put it down.

Didnt see it mentioned (sorry if I missed it) but Sherpa makes a slimline model in additions to their sharpie holder thats specifically designed to hold bic sticks and similar pens.

Theyre metal (aluminum?) and seem well-built. A little long when posted, but I like mine so far for the bic 1.6s

I just received my SHERPA.

Thanks for the tip, so to speak.

Those kickstarter pens look nice, but it's a little weird that by supporting, you only get a discount on the pen when it's finally released. Don't kickstarter supporters typically get the product as part of supporting the project?

Flatline,

I went back and read it again, and I think they just worded it poorly. You do get the pen for the amount pledged at the end of the project as usual. They are trying to point out that that price is 50% less than the pen will sell for in the future. I have not confirmed this with them, but that is how I am interpreting it. I backed this one awhile ago: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ensso/xs-pocket-fountain-pen and that's how it worked and it is a cool little pen.

Ah, that makes more sense than my interpretation had. It's a beautiful pen, very nicely proportioned, but it's priced above my threshold of whimsical purchase, at least for a ballpoint pen...
