Diamine Inks That Make You Happy

Asa Blue. Lovely ink, I get an uplifting feeling from seeing it on paper. Syrah is beautiful and sumptuous. Eau de Nil is a complex tealy grayish blue. Chocolate brown - looks like its namesake.

Ancient Copper has been with me since I started in the FP hobby. I especially adore this ink in pens that write very narrow lines, such as vintage accountant’s nibs, EF, XF, etc.

 

One of my favourite blues is Misty Blue. That ink is awesome. What it does is kind of hard to capture on photos, you need to see it coming from a pen IMHO. I prefer to use it in pens that have a huge range of wetness and/or line width depending on writing pressure, such as vintage flex nibs or the Pilot Justus 95. With minimal pressure, the ink will be on the paler end, a bit white-ish, misty indeed. With gradual pressure increase the wetness increases and so does the ink’s colour, becoming a fascinating shade of blue.

Imperial Blue is beautifully purple

Golden Brown shades beautifully, might overlap with Tobacco Sunburst.

Autumn Oak: I prefer it over Ancient Copper

Earl Gray is my favourite grey from Diamine

Vivaldi and Chopin for a muted purple and blue respectively, very sophisticated imo.

Pelham Blue - medium cold blue with nice shading

Honey Burst - warm yellow-orange-brown (actually, all inks from the guitar set are lovely)

Pumpkin - the best orange ever

Coral - vivid color between orange and pink

Mediterranean Blue - bright light blue, serious happiness effect

Eau de Nil - muddy blue-green, I can't believe I like it but I do

Communication Breakdown - darker red with green sheen, German exclusive

A +1 for Oxford Blue and Bilberry (my all time favourites)

Diamine Wild Strawberry, a very bright red that sheens a tiny bit, makes me smile.

Also, Earl Grey is a nice ink that looks gorgeous when it shades. When not using it in a pen, it's also really nice for ink washes/painting.

Diamine November Rain......mysterious, and moody..... maybe for another season.....

Apple Glory makes me feel of spring....

I haven't tried Diamine Umber but have been tempted by it.......

This thread inspired me to order a bunch from cultpens today--been planning on getting two shimmer inks for a while (Enchanted Ocean and Lilac Satin), and added a bunch of standard 30ml bottles along the way.

I'm buying from cultpens too! I forgot to state in my original that I'm getting the Iridescinks as well as what's listed. There's a 10% off till end of february for new penorama users,so i'm using that!

Oh I didn't recommend any of the Shimmer inks because I haven't tried a lot of them.

It's interesting how diverse the answers are. It seems that while many of us like some Diamine inks, the ones the OP will like will be highly personal and not something one can determine by a straw poll!
