If Ever A Japan Pen Company Decides To Do A Pokemon Maki-E Pen

Definitely a Rayquaza wrapping around the barrel of the pen like some of those dragon pens. Maybe a double Rayquaza or rayquaza EX (some orange to contrast the green/black theme) pen. I feel as if some Pokemon would look a little too cheap on an expensive Maki-e pen, but Rayquaza is basically a metallic green dragon that looks complex enough that I think it would look good.

Lamy did a Pikachu Safari a little while back, you could check that out. I believe it is pretty rare now. Not at all my thing, I'm more into traditional pens, but interesting

Yikes! Is that pen barrel actually *square*?

...

Doesn't Santini do a square barreled pen too? Some sort of building theme...

I remember a few years ago someone posted a picture of a "Hello Kitty" pen (I think it was made by Sailor). It was actually a fairly attractive pink (not a bubblegum pink, or an overly "girly" pink). But well, it was going for something like $300 US on eBay at the time. And said "Hello Kitty" on it.... :o

Yeah, that was my wife’s Sapporo, though Photobucket has swallowed the pictures.

She has the 80th anniversary Hello Kitty too - striped pink and white enamel with a Hello Kitty face on the nib (the Sapporo has a bow).

I’ll be first in line for a Gudetama LE. Something about the egg’s existential angst has always resonated...

Anyway, I’m a Pokemon traditionalist. Pikachu for me please.

Too many pens; too little writing.

Well, this old thread clearly needs a link: https://www.pokemoncenter.com/en-ca/search/fountain

I'd keep my eye on Platinum who has done a number of specials with anime themes. Their recent model for the 65th anniversary of Godzilla is a good example. It might be sold out.

When I first posted to this thread, I had completely forgotten that I have a Parker Vector that has "Puss in Boots" from the "Shrek" movies on the barrel.  And have seen some of the Warner Brothers cartoon-theme Vectors as well (and bought a friend the "Tasmanian Devil" one because, well, she needed it... ).  And if they were so gosh-darned expensive these days, I'd buy myself one.  And I can't believe that when Parker was doing the Shrek pens, that they didn't do one for "Fiona".  I'd have bought THAT one in a heartbeat, just like I did when I saw the "Puss in Boots" one.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Ah, yeah, I suppose the title does say "maki-e". But still cool.
