What's Your Most Recent Mb Purchase? 2020 Edition

I won a 145 Classique auction on eBay and almost immediately regretted it. It's not the price -- after lots of bidding, it ended up being a good enough deal to be "excellent" and not so good as to be worrisome. I went back and forth on bidding at all after all the horror stories one hears re getting sold fakes. But based on the guy's feedback, the nature of the photos, and what he's been selling of late, I figure he probably received this pen as a gift and is selling it off (along with a bunch of other random non-pen items) to raise some cash. I could be wrong, but it meets the smell test to me.

I simply have spent a lot of money on pens lately, and I had no business buying this one.

If all works out well when it arrives in a few days, don't be surprised if it ends up on the Classifieds for what I paid for it! But then again, I can talk myself into almost anything when it comes to money I have already spent, when I have 4 or 5 days to wait. . .

Indeed. I face the same question with the brand new Pelikan M400 that I was just notified has been delivered. I was planning to return it unopened now that I have bought my first MB, but now I am not so sure. It's good for me that my policy has been to let new packages sit in the apartment complex's package vault for 24 hours during these isolation days, or I would be over there ripping the box open instead of typing on this forum right now. LOL

Recently bought a new Le Petit Prince 146 direct from MB.

This is the model with brown resin and platinum trims. Can anyone tell me which year this pen was released?

It seems the latest LPP models are brown with rose gold trim?

Brown/platinum is the 2019 model.

The newest one (2020) is burgundy/gold.

That is an eclectic mix! Very nice! I have the Le Petit Prince and the Faulkner, both as fountain pens, and I really enjoy them.

Montblanc Homer Limited Edition

I have been looking, not very hard to be truthful, for this 2018 Limited edition - the size appeals to be honest for my big hands. I had bid and lost a couple of used ones on eBay and read about the scratching of the section which put me off slightly. Then I came across what must be one of the last retail new pens in the country and it just called me through the computer...you know what I mean.

Ordered Saturday night, arrived special delivery Tuesday at 8am ( well done Berry Jewellers in Leeds and the Royal Mail). I have opened and dipped only but what a lovely feel.

First impressions very strong - i like the size ( it is a thick pen), the weight and oddly the cap which turns to a close perfectly aligning to the body moulding. Writes nicely too! Anyway it is discussed by others better than me, but this is my most recent purchase.

A couple of pics...

Nice. I really like the Home for it's size and unique features. It is subtle enough to use many places and surprisingly comfortable for the size. If i find a used one at a good price I'd pic up another.

I love this pen so much I have it twice, a very wide F(M) and O3B. The section is going to get scuffed with use but I found that it stopped bothering me quickly.

I've recently injured my thumb so I have issues using most of my pens for any length of time. My Homers and my Conid Kingsize are the only pens I can use for more than 1-2 minutes without rest.

The capping takes longer than I'd like but I really enjoy the *click* when it closes.

I just got a NOS Notes and Diaries 2-pen case in red (at least that’s what I think it is). It’s really nice and it fits 149 sized pens or larger very comfortably without being bulky. It’s a shame these were discontinued.
