What's Your Most Recent Mb Purchase? 2020 Edition

The most recent Montblanc purchase is that of a Montblanc 142 Masterpiece with a fine nib, that is the perfect sibling to the Montblanc Meisterstück 142 with a BB nib that I got in March. My new lovely arrived today and I was veeeery pleased not only to find that the fine nib is just wonderful but also that the seller threw in a gorgeous red Montblanc leather etui as a very welcome surprise.

 

This one is a stunner. Thank you for sharing. I love the writing sample, too.

Thank you for posting a writing sample written with the Victor Hugo sepia ink! Is this a wet or dry ink?? I'm wondering how closely this colour approximates the colour of sepia ink used during the 19 th century??

The Montblanc Elixir Parfumeur Cherry Blossom ink has not yet appeared on the Montblanc China Web site.

I hope that it'll soon be available to you and others, as it's a superb ink.

It was a pleasure to share information about Montblanc Homage to Victor Hugo Sepia Brown because it's a truly outstanding ink.

Compared with all inks I've used over the past five years, it ranks at the top for ease of use. There are no problems whatsoever.

Sepia Brown is very slightly on the dry side. Nevertheless, it writes well in both narrow and broad nibs.

The color is somewhat more brown and less red than 19th Century sepia documents, and darker. Nonetheless, a delightful hue in a Montblanc nib.

This ink is a major success by Montblanc. One suspects that all who write with it will tell others of its virtues.

Mine is a 14 BB in excellent condition.

 

I usually live, nib wise, between EF and 0.6, and am finding the BB challenging. I shall persevere. It's also quite a wet nib, so I'll need dryer inks, initially at least, until I develop more familiarity. I'm currently working with Callifolio Gris du Payne.
