Hmm, why does the nib stick out so much? Almost looks like it's not seated in the nib holder completely?

I initially thought that too, however, it is properly seated when compared to my other 149s. The feeds and the base of the "wings" line up. Interestingly enough, the tines on this particular nib extend further out like one of my previous 149s from the 60s. Offers some nice bit of flex.

Tom — it is a delight to see your MB 342. Here is mine — note well the blue cap — this meant, I am told, that the nib was a firm, “accounting point,” — firm is certainly an apt description for this nib.
