It's in the neighboring classroom, where my team leader teaches.

Her cheerful encouragement to write inspires students.

The directness and colors appealed to me, so the image was made.

      Here is my classroom.

The current edition of the Japanese Fountain Pen magazine -Shumibun, introduces the long awaited “ Chinese Calligraphy Curved Nib” in the Solitaire and 149 chassis due for a December release in Japan. The Jade Green lacquer Solitaires looks to be a cracker of a pen that will compliment the burgundy gradation lacquered Solitaire with the Flex nib.

The magazine does not say how fine a line the reverse writing would yield, but it goes from a Medium point at a 90 degree angle to a BB at the 45 degree angle. I can’t wait to get my hands on one.

Well spotted; thanks. Wonder if this exhausts MB's stable of calligraphy solitaire nibs

@Frank C this might interest you.

@InesF, this made me think of your puck nibs.

Thanks for posting this. The nib resembles a Sailor Naginata Fude de Mannen nib. They are designed to work well for writing Chinese characters or kanji. I wonder if these will be available worldwide. The engravings on the nib are reminiscent of the engraving on the Calligraphy 149. I wonder if this nib will have some flex as well. Now, I can't wait until December. The green pen is quite attractive.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

Sailor indeed has such a Fude de Mannen nib, (besides half a dozen other fancy ones as all know). But this nib it seems is not a first for Montblanc either and a somewhat similar nib, if not an identical one in shape, is on offer (Meisterstück Calligraphy Maki-e LE 88 Fountain Pen Curved Nib). I don't think MB will discontinue the Solitaire Flex nibs any time soon. The 149C was initially released as a Special Edition - but now rebranded as the "Great Masters" Line which "should hopefully" remain a permanent fixture into the years ahead, depending on demand for that nib / chassis. Let us hope that the curved nib will be that way too.

I first caught a glimpse of the Green Solitaire on a boutique saleslady's mobile phone whilst on a work trip to Singapore - and she was taking names for the curved nib pens. And so are the ADs here in Australia. It should be available globally from the looks of it.

👍

The MB nib is more of a "flying puck", it stands vertically instead of horizontally (and has already some "wear" at the bottom side. ;)

Even if they do not call it that way, MB has invented the "puck" with the 146 Solitär Gold Leaf flex. I shamelessly reproduced it at a Pelikan M600 and at a MB Princes Grace nib - both now perform simply great!

Thanks @MalcLee for posting the announcement. Looking forward to the first reviews!

One life!

@MalcLee, when I first ordered my MB 149C, the pen came with that nib. I was trying to write with it but it was hard starting. And I did not like the shape of it either. I just wished I snapped a few pictures of it before sending it to Hamburg for fixing/replacing the nib.

In any case, not a fan of this nib.
