America is the land of acronims, I haven't got the faintest what InCoWriMo is (at least for the next 30 seconds until I'll look it up on google) but it does surprise me it's not ICWM.

just found out...:)

International Correspondence Writing Month. February. Correspond every day for a month. There is a web page that goes into a lot more detail. It gives you a chance to use your pens and make friends

I'm planning on giving it a go again this year.  Behind in so much mail I'll have a quarter of the month handled by sending replies.

So I can be more productive earlier in the morning, and use up my inks. I am also wanting to pen pal again, I don't have any replies to write to.  I also have a collection of stamps.

I’ve participated the last several years. I might not be able to this year. I want to participate in my library’s Winter Reading Challenge.

In the US, April is National Card and Letter Writing Month. I might do a month of letter writing then. I do have quite a few letters I need to answer.

Once I started getting letters from strangers every day and I had no idea what was going on. I got 22 letters in 2 weeks. Someone thought it would be fun to submit my address to this project without asking me. 3  years later and I still don’t know who did it. But I met a lot of people (looking at the bright side).

I’m going to give InCoWriMo a try again.  I owe letters, embarrassingly for over a year. Plus I need to write thank you notes to people who helped me after I hurt my hip muscle.

I was recently discharged to temporary accommodation with a shattered left leg caused by a ladder failure. I’m unable to work and may well never do for a living what I have always done.

So apart from studying for a new career online I thought I’d return to penpalling which I used to enjoy before life got too busy.

During the nigh on two months I was in hospital I didn’t drink, didn’t smoke and have now completely given up smoking. I tried it on the 30th of December when I went out to meet friends and just saw it for the disgusting pointless thing that it is.

I also can’t be bothered to go to the pub anymore because they’re just too expensive nowadays so I’ll have a lot more time on my hands to write, practice my instruments, indulge in hobbies and of course letters.

I don’t really need a social life at almost half a century old, been there done that and I’m no longer interested in pursuing a relationship.

I think I’ve finally grown up and because I can cook I don’t mind the poverty I now find myself in until I run out of food as benefits whilst I’m recovering leave me poorer than a Russian pensioner.

Im on the incowrimo as David the Decorator because that’s what I’ve always been it’s the only identity I have without it I no longer exist.

I’m on the Snailmail thing here but I won’t post on that thread again because….

I decided it was time I got back to letter writing. I hope my pen pals don’t faint when they see a letter from me after several years. Yet, I didn’t write on the first, so I’m behind by one.  I’ll catch up though.

Wishing you well @Colourfingers   It sounds most unfortunate what happened to you. I hope the month that has passed has seen improvements for you.

I didn’t start writing until the 2nd. I’m working on my second letter, but doubt I’ll finish it tonight.  So to catch up, I’ll finish it tomorrow, and write another.

Got all caught up on letters. Hurray! Of course it’s early days.

Good. You have to start somewhere. :)

Plus I had a good start, and that was it. Not even a full week of writing. I think if I’d kept up with my pen pals, a letter a day would be easier.

Dang I wish I had the time to and twenty-eight pen-pals to write to do this. Ads I have neither I will stick to 1 or two letters a month.
