Going by the part of your statement that I have emphasized, it seems to me that you also to like to then calumniate people who have disagreed with you - for saying/thinking the things that you have falsely extrapolated from their statements and then falsely attributed to them.

I have misrepresented nothing.

Please demonstrate where I have altered or misquoted what others have said.

I personally looked in the new 51 and 51 deluxe pens and do indeed see an inner cap. Not enough run time yet to see if there will be a drying out issue. Personally I am loving the new design and have had a ball carrying my Deluxe Plum in my pocket today. (Boy is it taking me some time to remember to unthread the cap instead of pull it!) LOL

Congratulations, PAKMAN!! If you enjoy the pen, that's all that matters.

Absolutely correct!

And for those who like stubs, there is a nicely done review of the new model in gold and purple now in the Review section. I think, from the differing width of the vertical and horizontal ink lines in the writing sample, that the sweet spot on the gold nib is slightly ovoid instead of simply circular. So those of us with a particular fondness for stub nibs may be very happy indeed!

I have now switched inks on my steel Fine nib to Montblanc Midnight Blue. The result is a much more reasonable (well, to me at least) thinner line which allows me to use both sides of Moleskine journal paper without bothersome bleedthrough. I had been using Quink Blue Black before because, well,... Parker and a new pen.

Enjoy spring.

It surely have inner cap, but air flows easily from the holes in the cap.The nib dry soon when you're not using it.

My NG51with 18k fine nib always skip when using quink. Is it normal?

I think not since this isn’t my experience. Have you tried a good flush before inking up again?  I had given mine a bulb syringe flush before inking it up.  Wrote very well.

So far no dry out issues with mine but it is a medium nib if that makes a difference.

Question to everyone who purchased New 51 Deluxe recently: are there any marking about gold content or presence of gold on the cap?

Thanks!

No only a “Q.iii”mark ,which refer to the produce era(2020q3)

In my opinion, the cap is electronic plated with 18k gold like parker always do

Thank you, noted.

AFAIR, Parker started doing that only on modern pens since around late 70s or early 80s...

Oh dear.

It seems that my aforementioned trust was misplaced.
Never mind.

Bye bye.

Mercian commented a few pages back: "i.e. the cap of the Parker 51 (NG) owned by maclink appears to suffer the same design flaw for which the cap on the Parker Sonnet is notorious."

In another thread I mentioned that I stuffed a small fingertip from a rubber glove in my Sonnet cap. It seemed to stop the drying out for several days, but then it got inky and stopped working. So, yesterday I dripped a small amount of shellac straight from the can into the cap in an attempt to seal the cap.  I can still blow through it but it seems to be staying wet for two days so far. Will report back if it continues to work.

For love of it. And yet not waste time either.

Just asking for opinions now that the new 51 uses a Jotter nib, does this revelation increase or decrease your interest?
