I don't know WHERE, but I've seen at least one person in the past get theirs for around 180 = ). Sean a.k.a. Corniche should be able to let you know where ;D

I'm getting mine for $180 from Pen Chalet.  Let me try to break it down for you. 

 

They have an Ink Drop program; for every $10 you spend, you get a drop of "ink." When you've amassed 25 drops; i.e., you've blown $250 on pens and inks - you get $20 as "bonus bucks," so to speak.

 

I preordered mine when they were offering 15% off sitewide and I had $20 in ink drop money, so it totalled out to $190.80.

 

(Actually, I'm getting mine for $180.80, but that's because I got a partial refund from another order which wouldn't apply to anyone else). So, I probably shouldn't have quoted that price in public. 

 

Pen Chalet is a great outfit, I buy a lot of my pens and inks there. If you buy with ANY regularity,  you can get 10% off your next order, (the discount kicks in with your second order). If you buy enough, you can becomea "Master Penman"; which puts you at the top of waiting lists, gives you access to "secret sales" or "advance" sales, etc. 

 

I guess I should also say, I'm not receiving any compensation to say this; just a satisfied customer answering a question.

I don't want to make anyone jealous, but I'm getting mine for slightly under $150.  It's a very deep discount like what i said previously because I'm a regular customer of the site.

As an avid Cultpens customer, I should be eligible for a generous discount.  No apparent avenues or offerings.

However, I have found that the US pen retailers are far ahead and much more customer-friendly than ours here... :(

To be fair, they've been very friendly and accommodating whenever I reach out to them.  I've just not been one to ask for discounts unless I'm pointing out an entitlement for which they are unaware the criteria have been met.

PenChalet used to only give that $20 on a bottle of ink - and only ink that had a retail price of $20 or less. (No using it towards Iroshizuku or Edelstein!)

 

Then one day they apparently decided to just make it a $20 store credit. I think that was a good move.

I have no problem with it.

 

I'm happy for you that you got a great deal.  The only time I would have a problem is when the drastically reduced price is in exchange for favorable reviews or the like.
