Like I said, I don't think it's a bad pen at all, if you can get a deal on it. I think its biggest problem is the (well merited) huge shadow the original has cast over it.  I think Parker would have been a lot better off if they had introduced this pen as a 48 instead of a 51. :D

- Sean :)

Or following the progression:  51, 61, 71 was used with a prototype... then 81.

No, Newell should name it 51 Lite ;) like mobile phone manufacturers do ;)

That would be much fairer ...

Sure, but adding word "Lite" is a must in any case ;)

"Lite" means less alcohol content in the US.

Moreover ;)

Because "new" P51 is like a bottle labelled as matured single malt but actually  filled with 30% blended stuff ;)

Neither of us have used one. When I finally decided to try the "full bodied", Full Figured, real deal, I understood why the original was beloved. Nothing "lite" involved.

As I mentioned well before,I decided not to buy it after reading all recent reviews and seeing its cheap look...

On "lite" meanings, please,  read Cambridge English Dictionary - quite useful book, I should say ;)

Yes, I understand, but you often scold others for what you consider needless posts.

No matter what we may think of tha actual pen, if any publicity is good publicity we can all agree that 40 pages is excellent publicity.

As well as a comment on the enduring impact of the original 51.

Oh, no, sorry... :)

Please, forgive my "heavy" maths background for being too accurate on some occasions ;)

Absolutely. Also spelling should be "light" NOT lite.

If only  the issue was being "too accurate". No problem, carry on. :)

No problem, Adam; just remember Parker does use a proprietary fitting - so only Parker or Aurora converters will fit. (I tried one of those Chinese slide converters, [the Parker knockoffs], and they don't fly).

- Sean  :)

Sometimes Lamy converters will fit.

Please, try to educate yourself on spelling and see use of the term, for example, by mobile phone manufacturers :)

Cambridge English Dictionary is also highly recommended ;)

I think it's you that needs the education, and stop being such a pain on this forum. And I suggest you read the dictionary.

I thought it meant a great taste, but with fewer calories.
