New: Platinum Curidas (Capless Type) Fountain Pen

Well, personally I don't care for the looks of the pen, so whether it infringes on Pilot's copyright is an interesting side discussion, but that's all. To me, the pen looks like a FP version of a Lamy Pico. Especially with that small nib coming out of a similarly shaped section. So I'll pass.

Thanks for the video, OCArt; I'm looking forward to this pen. I hope the EF performs like the DP800.

Will a platinum converter fit in the metal housing?

Pretty sure the converter should be compatible as per the note :

*Compatible with converters (Converter 700, 500) (Sold separately)

In the bottom part of the product page.

Despite the translucent body it looks like checking ink level is going to be a pain.

Seems so, unfortunately.

However I like that their normal converter will fit.

the video showing the knock looks really... uncomfortable. That's a much bigger flick of the thumb than a VP.

Well eat my nibs, I'm all in! :bunny01:

It's a bit more PenBBSy on the built quality and priced in the Pilot capless special alloy range but I think they have a winner.

They have time to iterate back to the elegance of 1965

Thank you for that curio, the first time I've seen a capless FP where the back of the body is the knock a la old Parker Dufold or 45 BPs, rather than the button.

Looking at that mechanism... Have they said if it will accommodate a converter?

The question has been answered and it is just a couple of posts above yours.

D'Oh! I scrolled right past it after watching the video. Apologies

When I read the Curidas would be selling 7000 yen, I assumed it'd be more expensive in international markets. However, both Lemur Ink and PenChalet have it on pre-order for $64, which is 6974¥ at the current exchange rate. Lemur's Instagram says it'll arrive mid- to late-February.

Does anybody know what this bulge at the nib end is? It doesn't seem to be there in other specimen (the red one) in other pictures.

I think it is in every color available. Not quite sure what that little bulge at the bottom is for.
