Today I have used two PenBBS 352s with REF nibs, a Sailor Pro Gear Slim F, and a Natami Inception F.

Lamy 2000, Pelikan M800, GVFC Classic, Edision Collier.

I ordered a gold nib for the Edison - anyone have experience with them vs the steel? I'm hoping for it to arrive next week.

Ugh, this isn't a very good photo as far as showing the pens go:

fpn_1580519013__aurora_tu_vs_ipsilon_ef_

The difference in lines widths from the two EF nibs may not be huge, but all the same very noticeable. Needless to say, I prefer the nib on the Aurora Tu. In my experience, Aurora's ruthenium-coated 18K gold EF nib also writes finer than its other 18K gold EF nibs, although I haven't tried a rose gold 18K gold EF nib yet.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

I found an old bottle of Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black from around 1990 in the garage and filled my equally old Pelikan M800 with a fine nib. To my delight, this ink actually works in this pen as I would like...nice, thin lines. Other inks I have, not so much. J. Herbin: firehose. Pelikan 4001 Turquoise: firehose. I'm afraid to buy any other ink now. I have a sample of Pelikan 4001 Brown I'll try later on in the week...

Edit.

I should mention the other inks work well enough on Rhodia notepads, but are problematic on Tomoe River 50g paper. Those A4 Rhodia notepads are about the only paper that plays nicely that I've found so far.

Do let us know how you like the (JoWo?) gold nibs from Edison. Every time I try to order one, Brian Gray talks me out of it and sends me a pen with a lovely steel nib. He always says something like, "try it in steel, and if you really want a gold nib afterwards, I'll sell you you a gold one... " The steel nibs are nice, but dang it, even if it is $100 extra, I want to try a gold one! Next time, I'll be more firm.

Edit: P.S. does anyone else have the problem with the mobile version for FPN auto editing punctuation (especially quotes and apostrophes)? This is the second time I have had to go back fix a post on the full site that wouldn't post as written on the mobile site (repeatedly deletes apostrophes and quotation marks).

Known problem on iDevices. With the keyboard showing punctuation, tap and hold the quote mark or apostrophe. A choice of four styles of them will pop up. Choose the straight version, it will work.

Thanks lovely. That seems to work.

I think the underlying problem is with this forum's software. In my experience quotation marks work correctly on other forums and and in other apps.
