Today it's been the Dark Lilac Safari (F nib) with Diamine Guitar Series Pelham Blue Burst (REALLY need to get a full bottle of that soon -- I'm scraping the bottom of the sample vial to even get a partial fill at this point); and the red Cross Solo (F nib), still with Ferris Wheel Press Tanzanite Sky.

I am still using mainly my Kaweco Classic Sport with Birmingham Waterfront Dusk, which I want to run out before inking my newly acquired Shaeffer Tuckaway Deluxe.

I will also do some writing with my Sailor 1911S Wicked Witch of the West pen, which I suspect will always be inked from now on. The Sailor currently has Shigure in it, because I wanted to see it alongside Waterfront Dusk.

That would be an interesting comparison. Swabs of Waterfront Dusk in another thread made it seem to be more of a red violet. But part of the reason I bought a bottle of it (back when Birmingham Pens still had the B&M store in Pittsburgh's Shadyside neighborhood) I recall it being more of an indigo-violet color, and wanted to see how it looked and behaved compared to Noodler's Kung Te Chang (I had also tried Shigure for the same reason, but it was just not the same color). So I'm wondering if the formula changed between batches (the way Shadyside Walnut Street Brown did -- later batches are much redder a brown than what I have; I had chalked that up at the time to them switching the source dyes, but could be wrong).

My sample of Waterfront Dusk is definitely not a red violet--it is a dusty, slightly blue-leaning purple--but I acquired it as part of a sample set nearly three years ago, and of course it is possible that the current formulation is redder.

I was interested in it as a possible replacement for Kyo-Iro Soft Snow of Ohara, in the event that that ink was ever discontinued. It has the same duskiness as Soft Snow but is a little more purple. Soft Snow can look quite blue on some papers.

Compared to Shigure, I would say that the hue of Waterfront Dusk is very similar, but Waterfront Dusk is decidedly dusky (excuse the singsong) with some shading, while Shigure is not dusky at all. Have you recently looked at this review of Waterfront Dusk?

As for what else I am using today, I finally exhausted the fill in my Kaweco and inked up my recently purchased Shaeffer Tuckaway Deluxe with Montblanc Lavender Purple. The pen is very cute looking and writes a smooth, fine line.

These are clearly not a matched set, but I like them in my autumnal rotation...
