Waterman Carene - F nib

Parker 51 Plum finish with a F nib that has an 'architect' sort of grind. I didn't expect this about the nib. Pleasant surprise.

Sheaffer Prelude - Skrip Blue

Parker Vac 51 - Quink Blue/Black

Parker 21 - Quink Washable Blue

Parker 21 - Quink Black

I'm almost sad that I have a bunch of new inks and pens on the way because with the addition of the P21 running Quink Black, I have a perfect setup. Nice variety of colors that behave well. All three Parkers run a Medium or M/F nib that I love using. The Prelude has a Fine nail of a nib that works great for when I need small writing in my Bullet Journal.

The only thing this setup lacks at the moment is a pen running a permanent ink. And maybe a pen or two in a red, green, or purple for highlighting and variety. So maybe I am not sad after all about the new pens coming. Now I know what I want to try in them first!

If the USPS behaves themselves, then I have a number of new pens arriving in the next few days. So I have flushed out what I had last week, to make space.

Today, I have inked:

  • Parker 51 Special (F) - Parker Superchrome Blue-Black
  • Parker 21 (M) - Parker Superchrome Blue-Black
  • Sheaffer Prelude (F) - Skrip Blue (this one is always inked, for when I need to write particularly small - it's really more of an EF nib)

These pens are specifically for trying out the Superchrome. The 21 is flowing very wet, causing it to be finicky on a number of my usual papers. So I inked up my dryest writing 51 Special to see how it behaves. So far so good.

Mostly the new Newton Townsend today inked with Lamy Dark Lilac to mostly match the body. It's a dark purple ripple ebonite.

Jinhao 159 - Noodler's Air Corps Blue Black

Wingsung 601 - Noodler's Bad Belted Kingfisher

The 159 and the ACBB are an amazing pair. Jinhao nibs are supposed to be iffy, but I guess I got lucky with this one. I really enjoy writing with it.

The 601 is a great pen so far, but I don't know how long I will keep this ink in it. It makes the fine nib write nice and smooth, but it also makes the pen write more like a medium (compared to when I had Perle Noire in it). The Jinhao's nib writes a finer line with the ACBB than does this 601 with BBK.

Added to current rotation:

Ranga Model 4C Crimson Red ebonite, Bock Titanium F -- Platinum Forest Green

Levenger True Writer Blue Anodized, steel B -- Diamine Cherry Sunburst

You know things have gotten bad when you decide to compare the color of the drop of Cherry Sunburst that dripped into the bathroom sink against a drop of Tincture of Iodine and a drop of Betadine.

¡Hello! :-)

I hope everyone is fine in these critical times.
About the fountain pens, inked right now and in rotation to use them every day:
Pelikan M200 M
Pelikan M200 B (although this one, being my fav, is kind of sick, so is going to the doc)
Pelikan M400 M (Tortoiseshell)
Montegrappa Felicitá M
Visconti Rembrandt M (nib softer than the Van Gogh)
Graf von Faber Castell Anello Ivory M
Esterbrook Estie B (not so B, but delicious)
Opus88 Flora M (not so M, but gorgeous and soft like a feather)
Sailor Lecoule MF
Lamy (two M and one F)
Brunnen M
Kaweco Sport M and EF
Going to the doctor: Montegrappa Fortuna M, Waterman Hemisphere M, and my beloved Pelikan M200 B (I think it was affected by indelible ink first, and shimmering ink later, poor girl).
Resting: some generic calligraphic, Lamy Calligraphy.
I confess I have had a lot more fountain pens, but the guilt of falling into excess has made me give away some: all of my Faber Castell Loom, some Lamy, a Twisbi Eco M, two Kaweco Student, and two Sports. That being said, I'm browsing right now for a Faber Castell, Aurora (maybe), Pineider (for sure), Otto Hut (although it looks very Faber Castell ish), Sailor Pro Gear Fairy Tale, Twisbi Vac and Eco.
In the pictures, my fountain pens and my son's.
My son't fountain pens (inked) from left to right: Montegrappa Felicitá M, Pelikan M200 F, Visconti Van Gogh M, Sailor Lecoule MF, Faber Castell Ondoro M, Faber Castell Loom M, two Lamy M, Twisbi Eco M, Twisbi Sport M and Twisbi Student M.
These pens have been collected through several years, it's a sort of gift: we save and go for one already selected and researched. Love is love, but with responsibility.

Welcome Nayomimira. I do agree with you about the research and selection. Often chosen for some special occasion they become keepers with memories attached. And environmentally responsible too - since they're not disposable and using bottled ink aren't adding to the plastic waste of the world. You have a beautiful collection.

Will work for pens...
