The day's selection is all about the nibs. A Jinhao 992 F inked with Diamine Deep Dark Brown for journal and general writing, the Sailor fude with Noodler's Polar Brown for drawing and the Lamy 1.9mm with Lamy Petrol has already provided an hour of italic practice.

My Moonman M8 arrived this afternoon. This evening I inked it with MontBlanc blue ink. Nib is fairly

smooth with some feedback. Will do just a bit of nib smoothing. I really love the look of this pen. My

snap does not do it justice.

the Sailor fude with Noodler's Polar Brown for drawing

That makes me so pleased that I included that in the pass-around box, instead of languishing in a drawer in my desk or worse. It's great that you and the pen have found each other! :D

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Not nearly as pleased as I.

He's out again today, still filled with Noodler's Polar Brown, joined by a pen which is a good match for the very pretty Sailor Waka-uguisu for writing and a Rotring Artpen with a 2.3mm nib and black Quink for my hour of italic practice. Yes, I do lay out my pens for the day, like a normal person would their clothes, probably with more care than my clothes...

A Lamy 2000 medium with Diamine Marine - There's something magic about this ink. Have only recently tried it in a broader nib on TR 68gsm and it has a delicate halo, halo sheen in places and great shading. It's like Sailor and J Herbin got together and brainstormed an ink.

A Pelikan m215 broad with Diamine Wagner - Crazy shading in a broad nib, it's stunning.

A Pilot Custom 74 SFM with KWZ Azure #5 - The soft, Pilot nib really brings out the sheen and shading.

Fun pens in the shirt pocket today including the '42 gold and dove "51", the 2017 Lamy Al-Star Pacific, and a Autopoint Rocket gold with silver clip. Been taking calendar notes with a Sheaffer Crest from the late '40's.

Had a bit of an inspired rummage through the collection and decided to switch nibs to keep things interesting... current EDC set:

- Pelikan 450 MP, a real beater but it feels really good in hand,
- post war Pelikan 100N with a fantastic CI BB nib and finally,
- Pelikan 400 with an EF nib. Oh, the ink is Pelikan 4001 Blue Black.

My brand new medium Cross Wanderlust Borneo, inked first with Robert Oster River of Fire then with Diamine Sherwood Green. Both were great colour matches. This nib's annoyingly sensitive to hand oils but it's pretty enough that I'll wear a glove for it.

A medium Sheaffer Sagaris, inked with Sailor Nioi Sumire. Have tried so many blue samples over the last fortnight but ended up circling back to this today. Ordered a bottle while some of the old, 50ml ones are still kicking around the UK.

... and I still can't put down the soft fine/medium Pilot Custom 74 inked with KWZ Azure #5.

My two favorites! A Parker 51 Demi in Plum, inked with Rohrer & Klingner Aubergine, and a Sailor Medium, the new Wicked Witch of the West, inked with Sailor Kobe Suma Purple.

I'm carrying an Aurora Optima 365 Corale with a 18 K cursive italic nib this morning. But the mail is supposed to be delivering a Ryan Krusac Legend-15 in Purpleheart wood with a steel 1.1 italic nib today, and I may not be able to resist inking it this afternoon.

So far this has been a busy pen day, including (in several cases), a "writing pen dry day"....

1) Noodler's Charlie eyedropper, flex nib -- Noodler's Heart of Darkness -- the pen had been behaving yesterday when I was writing bills last night, but then started burping and dripping ink (it's down to a half fill, so I have to decide if I'm going to refill it to adjust the pressure between inside the barrel and outside (the weather has been really wacky over the past couple of days).

2) Plum Demi Parker 51, M nib (Diamine Tudor Blue) -- trying to decide if I'm flushing or refilling.

3) Sterling Ciselé Parker 75, B nib (Diamine Emerald) -- that one is definitely getting flushed, because I think there's some sort of problem with the section ring (either there's a leak or I'm not getting wiped off enough when I fill the pen).

4) Blue Pelikan Pelikan, F? nib (Diamine Classic Red) -- that one is not quite empty, but is, I think, pretty close to empty, but I'll probably refill because I forgot how much I like Classic Red.

5) Burgundy Sheaffer Snorkel, M nib (vintage Scrip Permanent Royal Blue) -- just refilled this one a couple of days ago, at the moment it's good.

ETA: @ sansenri -- Wow, what pretty ebonite (that is ebonite, right?). I love the color combination.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

ASA Genius - 1.1 Schmidt Stub. Ink: Dryden Designs - Sky Blue. Since the pen was black, decided I wanted

a black & white photo. Speaks to me very differently than a color photo.
