What Pens Are You Using Today 2020

It's been a busy morning, pen-wise.

1) Pelikan M405, Anthracite Stresemann, B nib -- finishing up a diluted fill of Edelstein Olivine (really can't stall any longer and should get the pen flushed ).

2) Parker 61, grey, F(?) nib -- Giving up on trying to get J herbin (scented) Lavender to flow, even after trying to start it by flushing a little diluted water through the capillary filler. Guess that pen is getting flushed as well.... :(

3) Pilot Decimo, grey, F nib -- Iroshizuku Murasaki-shikibu. That pen also ran dry but I'm going to refill.
Later today, I'll be using something that won't freak the credit card company with when I pay for the brake job and new tires on the minivan (it's been an expensive day, so far), so something blue and/or water resistant.

I'm using a Pelikan M250 brown tortoise made for Levenger. One of my favorite pens in my collection. Oh, who am I kidding? I love them all!

Today I'm using a pen for the first time, and I am falling in love with it. It is an Osmia 222, quite a small pen, but lovely to look at with it's pearl and black marble, and the writing is very pleasant and fun with its soft and responsive nib.

This model seems to have 2 styles, this one with marbled celluloid, a black tassie and blind cap, or else stacked colored celluloid and a cap jewel like a Parker Vacumatic. I'll be keeping my eye out for the second kind, especially if it writes as well as this one.

I bought this custom nib early in the coronavirus lockdown phase, when I was separated from most of my pens. I finally managed to get home earlier this week and scooped up some of my favorite pens. This gave me the opportunity to swap out the factory-issued fine nib on my Pelikan M805 demonstrator for a silky smooth double broad stub.

Just remember that IG inks need to be flushed more often.

Platinum Prefounte I just received in the mail from Goulet. Came with a .3 fine nib but swapped with a .2 extra fine nib taken from a Preppy and inked with a Platinum Pigmented Blue cartridge. Ordered two Preppy's just for the .2 and .5 nibs to be used in the Prefounte. Writes surprisingly smooth.

I havn't tried the EF, but the Preppy Fine (03) nibs are great writers. I had one eyedroppered that could tame Baystate Blue on almost any paper. B)

Thinking about grinding the .5 medium into a fine-ish Italic.

Fun! Only $5 if you mess up and have to start over. :bunny01:

Today for me it's been:

Pilot Decimo (light grey, F nib) with Iroshizuku Murasaki-Shikibu

Parker Vector (pink, F nib) with KWZZI IG Blue #3.

Parker 75 (Ciselé, B nib) with Diamine Emerald.

Just inked: Ranga Model 3 forest-green/black ripple ebonite (titanium nib) with Platinum Cassis Black (Forest Black would seem a better fit -- but having just emptied a pen using that ink, I felt a red ink was due)
