My first fountain, and still use often - the Vista (I thought it was a Safari at first!).

PS. I actually forgot to write what pen it was, for those who wondered. It is a Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year 2010, with a Medium nib. DS.

Thanks for the post. That Diamine SBRE Brown looks like it has some lovely shading.

I was wondering that myself. It certainly is attractive, but couldn't tell if the design was printed or engraved/etched, especially on the section.

For me, today was the light grey Pilot Decimo, F nib, with Iroshizuku Murasaki-shikibu; and the Plum Demi Parker 51 Aero, with Diamine Tudor Blue.

You seem to get a lot of use out of your plum demi 51. After seeking a plum pen for years, I hardly ever use my plum 51. I think the nib might have been too medium, too much ink flow or something.

Nice picture. The pen looks comfortable. What is it?

Actually it is a Chinese made pen I purchased from AliExpress in 2017. It was sold by Acme

Stationary--46g - Deboss Brass. I do not write with it posted. It is surprisingly comfortable in

my hand. Was not costly, however, I purchased it because of the look. The few times I've

written with it in public, someone will ask me questions about it. Relatively smooth writer,

with very little feedback. The design is debossed on the surface so that it is indented.. I

decided to seal the pen, just to make sure that overtime no flaking would come off. I

carefully sealed it with the sealant I use for my diamond paintings - Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.

Mine is I think a medium and I love it. Nearly all the other 51s have F or EF nibs. But it does go in and out of rotation, same as the other 51s.

If I need to do research where I know I will be having to take copious notes, I will reach for the Forest Green Aero (now that the nib has been tuned) or the Cedar Blue 51 Vac with the rolled gold cap -- both of those are EFs and have had work done on the nibs so that they aren't scratchy. I did have my Teal Aero in rotation recently (mostly because I realized that I hadn't used it in a long time), but decided not to refill with the ink I had in it and flushed it out when it went dry. I did like the ink I had in it, though -- Birmingham Pens Cathedral of Learning Panther Blue; but I only have a small bottle of it and at the moment that doesn't seem to be in stock on their website (any more than Smithfield Street Bridge Truss Blue is :crybaby: ).

My mistake: Johann Sebastian Bach ink is made by De Atramentis and not Herbin.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.
