* My new Lamy 2000 inked with Diamine Coral (can never get over how neon that ink is)

* Jinhao 51a inked with Noodlers Heart of Darkness

* 3x Jinhao X450s inked with Robert Oster Blue Water Ice, Diamine Aurora Borealis and Diamine/Cult Pens Deep Dark Purple

In the mood for juicy pens today it seems (the 51a's actually really stingy but HOD turns it into a borderline firehose).

I started the day with a Parker Sonnet but had to do some stuff on a touch screen smartphone and the stylus end of the Levenger was what I wanted. As I've said elsewhere, the Levenger is one of those all metal octagonal pens that just seems to go well with denim. How does the song go "I see by your fountain pen that you are a cowboy" ?

All my "good" pens are flushed out, waiting for some new inks to come in the mail.

  • Preppy [F] - eyedroppered with Parker Quink Washable Blue
  • Shaeffer Prelude [F] - Noodler's Eel Black

The Preppy writes a slightly wider line than the Prelude. I didn't expect that.

I've never heard of this pen! What an interesting design. I'll bet it would carry well alongside one of those Ti Big Design pens. How do you like it? (besides the stylus bit, of course) Jowo nibs and standard international converter? (Long carts, or short?) And their inks?

Today it's been:
1. Pelikan M600 Violet and White, EF nib, with diluted Edelstein Topaz;

2. Parker Vector, pink, F nib, with KWZI IG Blue #3; and

3. Parker 51 Aero, Teal, F nib, with Birmingham Pens Cathedral of Learning Panther Blue.

Why did you dilute your Topaz?

Were you trying to make the bottle last longer? Or make the ink ‘write drier’?

I  that you use a Vector and a 51 at the same time. :)

Pilot Metropolitan Retro Pop Orange - M. Nib. Ink: Mixture of Thornton's Orange & Chesterfield Siam

Even though I am mostly vintage pens these days, I still want an orange Metro. I had a delightful red one as my first fountain pen (except some Varsity pens), and I have always liked the looks of the orange one. I should order one sometime.

What's a "Vintage FP"? Is that a brand?

No, that is not a brand. I have had this pen for about 11 yrs; the brand is not stamped anywhere on the pen. I have

often wondered if it is a 1950s/60s Reform, but on the other hand I do not think so. I rarely pull it out. It was looking

rather lonely in my pen case today  I do not use EF nibs--my handwriting is rather large. Up to 2019 I did not

like the Pilot Metropolitan, however, in the past 12+ months I have grown to really appreciate this pen, and currently

own 10 of them. They travel well. The orange is a nice color. Also like the Turquoise and Green pens--use them with

my Turquoise inks, and my Diamine Sherwood Green & Private Reserve Avocado. I am always surprised when they

attract attention, and have gained a couple of new FP converts because of my Pilot Metropolitan use.

I just received a TWSBI Diamond 580 with a fine nib from someone on the Virtual Pen Show! It's my third purchase there and this NIB purchase is a treat! It's very smooth and puts a lovely line. I filled it with Shikiori Rikyucha, but I think when that's done I'll use a more vibrant color to make the most of the demonstrator. Although it's beautiful on the page, the Rikyucha is

a bit boring to look @ in the pen.

First day with my new Sailor Pro Gear II black with silver trims, with Medium nib. Just got it this morning, received an Iroshizuku Tsuki - Yo ink as a gift, inked the pen and started writing immediately !!

Nice pen, beautiful nib, I'm already loving my new acquisition !

A pen that predates the current revival of Wing Sung; the Wing Sung 653. It is a thinner mock Parker Sonnet with a nib that is one of those "spade" nibs that were popular in pens from the early to mid 2000's. Flat feeds with no fins. It is more of a nail than I'd like, but decent with Hero 233 ink.

If you ever shop in the used market -- beware... The first generation L-Tech does not have the tablet stylus fittings.

Got a new pen for a very reasonable price, but the grip is too slippery though.

Neither.

I was too lazy to flush the pen out....
