Today it's been the Vibrant Pink Lamy al-Star, 1.1 stub nib, with Robert Oster Carbon Fire.

And this is as good a place to post the story as any other thread....

Went to the grocery store, and thought I could get around a shopping cart someone had left in a space (and badly at that). Nope. It pushed my side mirror closed and got pushed into the SUV in the adjoining spot. The woman in the passenger seat eventually manage to get the cart un-wedged, but a lot of fingerprinting ensued (especially when her boyfriend came back and it turned out HE'D left the car there "so nobody would park in that spot...." I almost said "A shopping cart is NOT a chair" (that's a 'Burgh thing: if you have to street park in some neighborhoods, you put a chair out to save the parking space -- and woe betide ANYONE moving said chair, particularly in a snowstorm...). Someone gets the store manager who basically says "Not my problem" and goes back inside. So the guy and I go to exchange phone numbers and insurance policy info, and I'm writing in the little notebook I keep track of expenses in. And then the the guy said....

"Is that... a LAMY?" And he and I spend the next 20 minutes having a lovely chat about pens and places to get them.... :D

Then, when I went into the store, the employee who had gotten the manager was explaining to the security guard what had transpired. And I said "It's all good now -- the minute the guy saw my pen...." And then then the store employee said "My MOTHER has one of those, I think -- red, to match her lipstick!" I could not make this stuff up....

I'll still probably have to call my insurance company in the morning, just to give them a heads up, but I suspect that there won't be much of an actual issue.

Making more reading plans tonight, using my newly arrived BENU Briolette Milky Way, with Diamine Chocolate Brown ink. All books waiting to be read on my Kindle with gigantic Ladybird book size font, so essential for me to be able to still read with my neuro illness. Most of them bought in reduced price sales.

As I sat up in the bed in Outpatient Surgery today and writing in my prayer journal--was writing with one of

my Jinhao X450s - M. nib (smoothed). It is inked with an ink mixture - Dryden Designs Luscious Pink with

a few drops of Chesterfield Antique Oxford. Reminds me of a slightly lighter Diamine Syrah.

Well, I told the insurance company about the incident on Monday. Then yesterday I got a callback from someone there to say that on the off chance I was approached by the other guy's insurance company to let them deal with it. I don't think that will actually be an issue.

The fact that the guy said "Is that a LAMY?" was not what I was expecting. Even less so when the store employee said "My mother has a red one!" (Of course it might not be a FP, but still...).

So today, I've used that pen (had a bit of a panic when I couldn't find it, but it was in the car from when I went for a drive yesterday -- it had fallen out of my purse when I had to stop suddenly for a traffic light, and the purse ended up on the floor in front of the passenger's seat) and finally got the Violet Safari inked up (Robert Oster Grey Seas). And this morning's journal entry was with the ebonite Konrad with diluted Noodler's 54th Massachusetts.

Back to my TWSBI 580AL Rose tonight, which I haven’t used for many weeks, but writes like a dream as soon as I pick it up. Filled, as always, with Diamine Scribble Purple ink. A very satisfying combination.
