Aerometric Parker “51” in ‘Navy Grey’ - Noodler’s Black

Aerometric Parker “51” in Burgundy - R&K Salix

Pelikan M805F - Edelstein Aquamarine.

Two of the above are recent acquisitions; my ‘rotation’ is not usually this ‘fancy’! :D

Yesterday's pen was the Pilot 742. The FA nib feels so good.

Another great nib is the B on the 823 I'm using today. So, that's a double thumbs-up to Pilot.

First, a Jinhao X750 with stock nib and Noodler's Brown ink, from which I've sanded nearly all the original gold metallic paint. This revealed stainless steel, except for the brass under the finials and chrome-plated trim, that I wasn't able to mask with complete success. I may post a picture when I'm caught up on homework.

FPR Jaipur v1, solid red with 1.0mm stub, filled with my old bête noire, Noodler's Bad Black Moccasin diluted 1:1. Here are pictures. Kevin is supplying much crisper stubs than he was a few years ago. I am really liking this pen. It has a form factor, weight, and balance very similar to my vegetal resin Konrad, which had the misfortune of drying out after mere hours (no more than four) of capped, lying-on-its-side non-use.

A Twofer... Using the same image for both "finished" and "using". Same terrible handwriting, therefore.

Benu Scepter VI filled with Levenger Regal.

Nice one, I have an ASA Nauka in transparent resin but yours is another pen altogether. I need an ebonite Nauka :)

Nice pens!

How does the Benu feel in the hand? It's quite a chunky looking piece.

and this Stipula 900 again

I wanted to swap the nib on it with a gold one but then found that the steel stub on it works pretty well

I know it's not a fountain pen, but I've been using the Gelly Roll 08 Royal Blue today, and it is the next best thing to a fountain pen, IMO:

  • It writes exactly like a fountain pen: Zero effort/pressure with consistent flow.
  • It has a lovely feedback to it.
  • It's a beautiful color, and though I expected an azure-like royal blue, the color is actually nearly identical to Kung Te-Cheng. So if you like that ink, but can't stand how difficult it can be, this is an option, especially since it's permanent as well.
  • The barrel has a nice girth to it as well as a subtle texture that's great for gripping. It's quite comfortable.
  • The cap kind of sucks, isn't the smoothes capping an uncapping, and the clip is subpar, but it keeps it from drying out.

I like it a lot : )

I'll need to use it a bit more, but the section itself appears to be in common with the Briolette, so is somewhat tapered toward the nib...

time passes -- three Hard Sudoku later...

The barrel isn't too bad, pretty light weight plastics used... But I did find the step from barrel to section threads noticeable... Not sharp, but there...
