My wife took one look at the page shown above, and told me it isn't like me to write with a pen that puts down those kinds of ink marks. She's right.

That's better.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

That's a nice Aurora! I really like the B stub lines!

I'm using a Franklin Christoph 20 in Smoke and Ice with a Masuyama Medium Ci Jowo nib, a MB 146 with a flexible nib, and a Pelikan M205 black with a BB stub

@ A Smug Dill -- That is a hilarious story! Although personally, I think your handwriting with the Aurora is lovely.

For me, today, it's been the TWSBI 580-ALR, 1.1 mm stub nib, with Noodler's Blue Upon the Plains of Abraham.

NOT a happy combination, I'm discovering. I'm getting an alternate between mediocre flow and (when I move the piston knob down to charge up the feed more), gushing and bleedthrough, even on decent paper (my husband was already complaining last night about Noodler's Heart of Darkness being used in the nasty paper in the check register and having it bleeding through to the other side -- he should be happy I'm NOT using that pen to write checks...). And again, I'm getting more control of the wetness with using the nib upside down (the same way I did with Diamine Shimmer Arabian Nights). :(

The result is making A Smug Dill's attempts to write with the Aurora and the Herbin 1798 ink look even MORE impressive in comparison.... I had tried the 1.1 stub just to expand my range some (I mostly use European F nibs, or vintage pens whose nibs run a little narrower in comparison to modern equivalents) and the 1.1 nib is just making me nuts.... Thinking of trying an iron gall in it next. Or maybe Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black....

I just picked up a Parker 51 Special set that looks like it was inked once and put back in the drawer. It’s the teal pen I think, which is a pretty good match to Pilot Iro Tsuki-yo. It’s pretty... dry writing? I’m not sure how I feel about this pen... my other pens tend to be soft or flexible, which this is obviously not, but I’ve been entirely marvelling at how pristine it looks and writes (like it rolled off the assembly line yesterday!). I just wanted to share that with someone, so thanks to this thread for being that someone.

A brand spanking new Lamy 2000 that I bought today. Loved it at first dip and it’s the first modern pen I’ve bought in ages.

A vintage Postal Reservoir Pen with 14K gold nib. I replaced the bulb filler part last night. Today it got a fill of J Herbin Terre de Feu.

My brother got a couple of these at local antiques stores (Chicago), and made one good pen out of them. I followed suit with the ink he used. Mine came from the Chicago Pen Show of 2014.

So far today it's been a Noodler's FPC with Noodler's Heart of Darkness. But I suspect that I will add to that list before the day is out....

Later on I am going to be forced to use a ballpoint ( :yikes: ) in order to write a postcard for international despatch (because its card stock is that nasty modern stuff that isn’t FP friendly :( )

I am currently employing Navy Rum to try to drum-up the necessary nerve, and shall leaven the horror by using the Parker 75 in 14k ‘Tiffany Grid’ that I received for my 18th birthday.

The Lamy 2000 has become one of my two everyday pens with Waterman Serenity Blue. This is a new pen and new ink to me.

The other is a constantly inked blue 1949 P51 Aero....filled with Aurora Blue.
