ASA Nauka in olive-black ebonite with an F nib

Pelikan 140 Black with a CN OB nib

Pelikan 140 Black with an EF nib

Pelikan 400 NN Tortoise with an EEF nib

Esterbrook Slim J Red icicle with an 8440 nib

Pilot 823 with an F nib

New Postal Reservoir Pen with a broad italic nib

The interesting thing about the broad italic is that even though I have small handwriting, I can still produce legible, small script despite the broadness of the nib. It is so crisp that the horizontal strokes are razor thin.

Today it's been not quite all over the map, but definitely a range:

Parker 51 Aero (Forest Green, EF nib) -- vintage Quink Washable Violet. [journal entry]

Parker Vector (purple, M nib [reissued French production]) -- R&K Salix. [bill paying and balancing the checkbook]

Cross Solo (blue, B nib) -- Akkerman Dutch Masters Stormachtig Blauw. [general notes]

Noodler's ebonite Konrad (Methuselah's Pine Cone Ripple, flex nib) -- diluted Noodler's El Lawrence. [labels for the dividers in my music performance binder -- current concert order, other new music, repertoire pieces, etc.]

So, a US made pen, a US brand pen possibly made in Japan, a US brand pen made in India, and a (formerly) US brand pen made in France; with vintage and modern US made ink, Dutch (possibly made in the UK) ink, and German ink.

And earlier today there was a thread where a new person here asked if people were "minimalists" (1 pen, 1 ink).... WHY? Playing with different pens and different inks is just too much fun! After all, they say that variety is the spice of life! :D

Loving your Bexleys, Fred!

will you post some in the "a collection of Bexley pens" thread that Zaddick started? now that the true Bexley Company is gone, it would be nice to gather some of Howard's pens together for everyone to see.

My choices today have been both Pelikans. The 140 with that wonderful F nib inked with 4001 Blue Black and the White Tortoise (B of course) inked with KWZI El Dorado. So far today the latter has seen the most use.

New fountain pen arrived today. Should wait to fill it till tomorrow when the pen case I bought for it gets here. Did I do that? Clearly not. Very pleased with it. Even if Ill be happier when its in its case tomorrow.
