Montblanc Compressor Restored!

My most fulfilling and successful project yet! I was lucky enough to get my hands on this super rare Montblanc Compressor No. 4 made for a very short period in the mid-1920s. But it was pretty beat up and had the wrong nib and clip. First, I worked on restoring the pens original black colour. Decades of exposure to sun, sweat, and other elements had turned the pen brown. Next, I had to find a period correct clip. The cap had marks on it that gave me a hint to the kind of clip it originally had. It took me months to source the correct one. Next, I needed a 1920s No. 4 nib. Sourced! And now, I have a fully-restored and period-correct Compressor. I never thought Id have a Compressor in my collection. But, a bit of risk, lots of patience, and little focus, helped me add this rare filling system to my collection. I am happy to say that because of it I now have every major filling system produced by MB in the Good Ol Days! Thanks for sharing. I'm most impressed with your restoration. The pen looks great, without being over-restored. I'm amazed that you're able to source spare parts for a 100 year old pen. Well done.

What did you use for a seal between the pneumatic tube and the barrel?

Hello Friend! I didnt need to repair the filler. It was already restored by Francis before I bought it.

What product (or what Devil's brew) did you use to get the black color you achieved? It did more than simply make the barrel black, it also gave it a nice sheen.

Lol! I used hoovers de-oxidizer goo! But the sheen is from gentle hand rubbing of mineral oil.
