Hello Penhero,

I have a small ringtop Carter fountain pen - a marbled finish and a semi flex nib. It is a small lever filler - needs to be restored, but a nice writer. I had heard virtually nothing about this company until this thread, so it is nice to get more information.

I'll put up some pictures later hopefully to get identification.

You really should read the articles in the Pennant - they give excellent background on the line and all the colors.

Thanks, I'll check them out

Picture of the pen is below - edited to bring out the true color (couldn't capture it well). Excuse the miserable photography.

Looks like the pen is damaged a bit around the lever - some swelling of the barrel perhaps?

It writes very well. The nib comes out of the pen easily - I might find another pen to put it in.

Thank you for the identification. I may try to get it restored (or do it myself) as I'm not too bothered by the bulge around the lever and the nib is very nice.

I love the nibs on these Carter's pens. In fact any Dewitt Lafrance pen too, these are the few I have, amoungst them one of my favorites of my pens in general, the BHR Sawaco sleeve filler. The clip is interesting very early form of the spring clip eventually showing up in the Carter's line. The little Superite ringtop has a great little nib, as beautifully finished as the others, with the S mark that shows up on the Rexall signet's too. The pencil is a Delaco with a clip similar to the one on the pretty RHR pen earlier in this thread

I have more Carter pens than I realized. A few of them are in pretty bad shape, such as the pitiful shamrock pen, but it's a start. The Coral ringtop set is nice, but missing the ring from the cap.

Hello,

Here are a couple of Carters (Carter's? Carters'?) I inherited from my grandpa. I had Gary repair/stabilize the pen, it writes nicely, I don't have too many other pens that have much flex. The pen is stamped 11125, both pen and pencil have "G B BENSON" on the barrel (I don't know who that is/was).

Pencil is missing the clip, so a clip-on was improvised. Eraser is a little stiff.
