Best Of 2019

Got many pens this year, from an Opera Master in February to a pre-ordered Leonardo Arco! next year I really want a wild or Lucens celluloid pen, maybe an ASC or another Omas!

well mine must be a little bit different there is no one signle commercial ink that I would call best of the best this year, there are many good and even great ink but to me its my finally perfect my collection of several Iron Gall + Carbon ink mix to a very satisfying ratio ... Iron Gall Blue Black is the typical old school ink for permanence and so do Carbon ink , both had their merit and both equally had their issue and My thought once was to combine them to made something; needless to say it take a lot of experiment trying this and that, but I had finally come up with about roughly 6 different combination using R&K, Hero, Diamine, and Phoenic Quill inks. What I consider a success is that these mix can stay in a normal no thrill fountain pen a week and not dry up and clog the feed and they wouldl still be water proof after dried and basically all the IG/Carbon character preserved

So yes my best of the best this year is my set of Traditional Carbon/IG ink mix which give me some fairly dark ( work place friendly ) permanent ink , of course the all end up aged to very dark grey or black but the do still show a hint of color a the edge usually

P.S one thing I learn Platinum Carbon Black is not good for this , their Classic ink also is too lean on the IG part , so do KWZ , need more traditional IG formulae
