I'm thinking that Pelikan should be hiring him to do their photos -- my M405 Stresemann was a LOT darker grey than the promo photos suggested....

In the meantime, I got email a few days ago from iPenStore that the new Safari colors (at least part of their shipment) are supposed to be arriving in a few days (I think the 31st), and have pre-ordered the Violet with an F nib, plus a converter and one of the black anodized nibs in a B width (my Dark Lilac is an F, and the nib on the LX is an M; it was a toss up between those widths on the Violet LE, because I didn't like the EF nib I tried at a table at the OPS a couple of years ago). I decided to go with the black for the extra nib because, well, the other two Safaris have black nibs... and it seemed like a good idea at the time.....

Uhhh ohhhh....why did I look?

Whyyyyy? Woe is me!

I also just got my first Lamy pencil to commemorate a certain achievement. Where have you been all my life? Does anyone know when the new LE colors will be available in the USA? And whether I can get a pencil ✏️ in these colors???

I have been curious about this as well. I have discovered the extent of the Safari pencil color offering, as of now, in the Lamy Germany website in English.

https://www.lamy.com/en/lamy-safari/#sku-1228026

They are offered in the basic colors of yellow, white, umbra, red, pink, green and blue. There is a new, to me, addition of black and the Vista line also has a ballpoint.

Years ago, I bought the whole wardrobe in one of the basic colors, the Safari/Vista ballpoints, pencils and rollerballs have been as comfortable as their fountain pens, when a long writing session is needed but fountain pens, or more accurately fountain pen inks, are not suitable.

You might have to scour the website of many vendors to find the pencil in all the colors available. As of today, there are none in the LamyUSA website. So, I am thinking that this forum classified might also be a good idea.

For anyone interested the Lamy Al-Star propelling pencil is only available in black and graphite.

I haven't really been looking for pencils but know that earlier in the production of the Lamy Safari they tended to make a full set (4, later 5?) of everything in the colour. This included Fountain Pen, Roller Ball, Ball Point and Pencil and for a period a Twin Pen (combined ball point and pencil) I do have a Pencil in Grey which I got with a Grey Fountain en so know that some of the earlier colours included a pencil in the range. See with some Twin Pens, again I have acquired 1 or two in some job lots.

Twin Pens seem quite popular i.e. go for a higher price on online auction sites. Pencils on their own seem cheap by comparison with twin pens and fountain pens except for the Olive green and Terracota but these are silly money whatever form they take.

Don't know if you spotted it but at the beginning of this thread there was a starbucks special edition green pencil in Korea which comes up on the US eBay sometimes.

I would just advise patience and a lot of searching in the deeper recesses of the internet.

I only got one of the colors last year. I think I’d get the purple this time. I really need to see them in person, but don’t know when that can happen.

Sigh. STILL waiting for the Violet LE. Pre-ordered the pen something like a month ago. Apparently it's FINALLY though US Customs, but Lamy's new US distributor hasn't passed it along to the retailer. I could have cancelled the order (especially since I had to pay that credit card bill last week) but and giving the retailer some slack. But it's very frustrating to see other retailers advertising that they have the pens in stock.... And I hear NOTHING from the retailer unless I initiate things, and this is a seller I've NEVER had problems with before -- either directly or through their eBay store (and their eBay store I have NOTHING but praises for; never had a problem with the process or the pens I bought). But this? This is a nightmare (and of course in the meantime I am also waiting on the converter, a spare nib -- since the pens were only listed as being F or M), and a packet of little notebooks to try the paper for various brands). :(

My Mango arrived last week and it’s just the colour I hoped for, a really rich, deep, egg-yolky yellow. Love it!

I chose my user name years ago - I have no links to BBS pens (other than owning one!)

I missed that grey Safari, saw the fountain in a storefront but did not buy it, after passing in front of that store each time I went to the area.

I didn't know that the grey was part of a big set.

I am not a big fan of logo stuff and the color used for that coffee enterprise is not to my liking. Thank goodness for my wallet.

I believe that Lamy should make Safari pencils in more colors, this year's color would have made for nice pencils.

Received my Violet Safari w/EF nib from Goulet Pens yesterday. I like the color and the matching clip and ring. Filled it with Herbin Poussiere de Lune. Writes very smooth. The matte finish feels good when writing.

I ordered a Violet version today because of the Endless Pens flash sale of $16.50 today only with converter included according to the email.

I mentioned earlier that I wondered about the 3 pens trend. Someone asked if I’d rather have 4. Actually, I’d rather have one. But I’ve managed to only get one when 3 were offered. At the price point of today I was tempted to get two colors, but couldn’t choose. It really depends on what they look like in person. That is hard to do these days.
