Ranga Handmade Pens-Thanks Giving Day And Christmas Group Buy- Beautiful Acrylic Models

Both my pen arrived yesterday.

It has taken a while, but I suspect the Xmas festivities had a lot to do with it (I also received today a Christmas card from a client at work...)

 

Model 3, red blue cracked ice, Bock B chrome nib

Model 8B, red gold cracked ice, Bock M gold tone nib

 

They are like the first two examples shown in the first page of this thread, only without the clip.

 

Both are VERY nice and the somewhat overexposed pictures here do not do them full justice (I will try to take my own pictures when the dark winter gives a break and some sunny day shows up, I don't like so much to shoot with artificial light).

 

I was particularly intrigued by these two colour combos as they seemed to be the nicest choices with more than one colour in the resin.

I think I made a good choice, the red gold is particularly nice with lots of depth in the material.

 

Execution of the pens is also very very accurate! The threads are perfect with not the slightest imprecision and I am really favourably impressed.

If I have to compare with some cheaper resin pens (Moonman comes to mind) the Ranga execution is from another world.

 

Bock are nice nibs of course but compared to the resin job, they look a little boring here, as performance is good, but nothing exciting.

I will probably be playing around with some spare #6 nibs I have to see what I can fit in the Bock collar.

 

Will be back with photos, these pens deserve to be shown in the full glory of their sparkling resin.

not so many photos have shown up, on this GB yet...

I had to wait to take mine, I wanted to take them in daylight but the last few weeks the weather has been so dull...

then this week some better lighting at last!

 

here is the blue red cracked ice Ranga 3.

This is a nice colour combo, the two different colours contrast rather well, the effect is rather different from the one tone cracked ice

The blue particles in the resin have nice sparkle and depth

 

The Bock B nib is very nice, smooth, with good flow and a touch of give

 

These cracked ice resins tend to look darker or brighter depending how they hit the light

 

also it's not easy to notice but the resin is very slightly translucent

 

the colour also matches my royal blue + sargasso sea mix quite well
