New Penbbs Model?

I don't want to derail this thread, but what is that Pilot pen in your avatar photo awa54? It looks like a Pilot Elite or e95s?

It's actually an "acquired" image, but I do have a pen with the "soft" version of this nib: it's a 1970s Elite pocket pen. This type of nib design starts with the Super series of the late 50s and continues through V and E series in the 60s to Elite, Custom and L series in the 70s and 80s. I believe that early on at least, all the named nib types were available, but I haven't seen them all... and have only seen soft, script, posting and manifold in later versions.

Agreed with this. The wing sung 601, 618 and 698 remain the best for value pens right now imo, though I like the upturned penbbs nib in a cheaper offering (323).

The standard PenBBS F nib from the 308 etc. Is available in a well built piston filler in the 268, it's clear/demo only, but offers the same f&f as the acrylic pens with a clip and huge, self filling system for cheap!

If I had to guess, I'd say it's polycarbonate, but I'm not certain, I do think it's injection molded though, but the finish, nib and clip are still much nicer than the bulk of the $5-$10 crowd from China.

The 268 is a vacuum filler and not a piston filler, little correction.

So, the 500 I think is already on sale somewhere and I believe we can expect the starting price just below the 456.

Interesting to see if this will be the case on the Etsy store.

It is on sale on Taobao. So you can expect the Chinese sellers on ebay and etsy (like esybuy) will be snapping them up to resell +25% after they disappear on beini's etsy. No sign of them yet on her Etsy storefront.

I have a feeling it will be close since they will close all shipping by 15 of January.

The PenBBS 500 is on Etsy now. Just ordered my 120 Ocean for $29.99

Almost tempted by the Ocean, but seeing it being more purple than a deep dark blue I went and got the Galaxy instead.

The Spring is also almost out of stock currently, convinced that ChrisRap52 bought that pattern for its uniqueness.

Nabbed mine from beini. Went with corderite.

Was hoping the Amber pattern to be released on the 500 series but was disappointed.

Prices are on the rise for every new model. I wonder if it is due to high demand?

Chris bought two; an Aurora and the new colour "Ocean". I snagged a Galaxy as well. We'll see an Amber is a Cat eventually I expect.

Not sure on which one you mean for higher release price, the ceiling price has always been below $40 was it?

The release of the 491 was inline with the 308, the 500 is on par with the 355 / 456 CMIIW.

Oh I see, surprised the "Spring" didn't lure him.

Hopefully they do with the Amber finish. Another finish I would like them to produce more is the Starry Night which only comes out in the 309 and 471 currently.

When the 355 came out, it was being scalped for $70-85 for 2-4 weeks.

In the end, reading all of this, I broke down and bought a 500. One more pen to look forward to!

My Chinese pen collection has expanded exponentially in the last year...thanks for enabling me!

From the PenBBS on Etsy / Ebay or other sellers in Ebay?

I have one on the way as well - in purple. Given the price point, I'm curious how well the pen comes off as a premium offering.

I am loving the way PenBBS is pricing their stuff so far but it will be interesting if they decide to make a very limited premium offering in the future.

Yeah, I think they price their pens just right. No Lamynanigans here.
