It's cute, but I'd like to see some more variety in acrylics on the M2 over that.

I have one but no snowflakes just plain.

It is a nice writer and of course, holds a lot of ink.

I do most of my writing with dip nibs but whenever I pick up the Moonman, it starts right away. Quite surprised by that as I even have a shimmer ink in it. I was recently away for a month and yet it still started straight away. I am considering getting a couple more of them because of the reliability and consistency.

I LOVE my M2 (rose gold), but this makes me wish I’d waited until the snowflake came out. I may have to get a second one! So CUTE!

I saw that version when I was trying to choose which eBay seller to buy a Moonman M2 from. The snowflake version is an attractive pen.

My Moonman M2 arrived today. Somehow I did not notice it came with a gift of a 1.1mm stub nib. I was so happy to see it, and have already swapped the F gold tone nib. My plan was to fill it with (new) Sheaffer Skrip Red. Has anyone used shimmering inks in a Moonman M2?

I went to eBay to take another look at Snowflake, and saw a C1 with reindeer, Trees, and snowflakes. Wow!

I like the snowflake design, but not that it's otherwise just a demonstrator pen. If they had done the snowflake design on a solid color pen, I'd maybe be tempted.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I did see you used a shimmer ink after I posted. Has your pen run out of ink yet? I’m curious how easy it is to clean.

It has Diamine Lilac Satin in it. I have filled it 3 times already but not cleaned it. It still works perfectly although, to get the glitter/sheen I have to shake it a little every now and then.

I have not found that it needs a clean yet so I couldn't tell you if it is easy or not, sorry.

I just enjoy the pen and with that ink in it looks great!

My M2 has an 18k waterman nib in it. It's a great pen in general.

I don't love shimmer inks in eyedroppers though. They can hold so much ink that they can be prone to clogging.

After several months of using M2 Moonman pens, I have to say they became quite problematic. Some started leaking via the nib, some of them are clogged and can probably only be cleaned by taking the section apart (which I haven't done yet).

Today, I tried extensive ultrasonic cleaning - did not work. At the beginning of their lifetime, no problems at all.

Blimey!

I have had no trouble at all with my 1.

if you can had it left so long that it clog, then you really are not frequent enough to warrant using a ED like that .. it happen with all fountain pen, left it unused , and it can clog inside the feed and sometime if long enough clog inside the ink reservoir

I used them - still lots of trouble. They are not clogged, I can write with them. Exception - the left one is eventually clogged - J.Herbin Vert Empire never liked this pen.

Even cleaning is more trouble than I ever experienced with other pens (bought on auctions, left for up to 40 years without cleaning).

Ultrasonic cleaning of the Moonman pens for several days left the section like shown below

> Can't you just pull the nib out?

I was too busy at work to do that. Your recommendation is on my schedule for the holidays.

Just wanted to mention that these (my) pens changed from trouble-free in the beginning to trouble-maker over one year of using them. I have no idea what the reason is. I have at least one that is still more or less trouble-free.

mke: many thanks for posting about your long-term experience with these pens.

so many reviews are posted within days of receiving a new pen; or after only a few hours of evaluation. Very few people follow up later to talk about failures, disappointments and problems.

I remember reading a Reddit review claiming that the Wing Sung 601 was actually superior quality to the Parker 51. (The reviewer admitted he had never used a Parker 51.) My 601 worked very well out of the box; however, it is having filler problems after the third fill (filler binding, spring failing to extend the plunger). All of my aerometric Parker 51's from the 1950s, including many well-worn ones, still work perfectly without restoration.

Its disappointing that as simple a pen as an eye drop filler could fail within a year of manufacture. Or that a piston filler would be provided with a tube of lubricant because its piston will bind up almost immediately. But at these price points, perhaps it's unreasonable to expect more.

mke, it looks like you have the entire nib section in the picture. There is a nib unit that you can screw out of there. I think you have ink between the section and the nib unit. The nib unit has an o-ring, but it doesn't always work. A little bit of silicone grease might help.

My pens are wet writers, so if I jostle them around in my backpack, some ink occasionally drips into the cap.
