Parker 51 Special Connector Broken. What Adhesive?

I recently purchases a Parker 51 Special that had a nib misaligned with the hood by about 30 degrees. While trying to take the hood off in order to re-align, the connector separated into two pieces (I don't know if it was already broken, or I did it trying to disassemble). See the picture below.

Everything seems to work and it draws ink and writes, but about 1/2 the time when I try to take the cap off the hood and nib now remain in the cap, and the bottom half of the connector stays with the barrel.

What is a Parker 51 Special connector made of, and what us the best adhesive to use to glue pieces back together?

I have on hand a plastic epoxy, super glue, or Testors 3502xt liquid glue for plastic (part acetate and part MEK).

The 51 Special has the same connector as on a Standard 51. Try to find a replacement 51 connector. Gluing wouldnt work for long. Super glue, however, would work for regluing the two pieces together.

It would be better to get a replacement connecter. There are still parts sources.

Glue would not be adequate. Solvent welding, given adequate time after fusing the pieces together may work. I would try a solvent containing methylene chloride first.

Weld did not work. Let me take the aeromatic part off to make sure what type it is. The pen is a 51 special.

Thanks.

The Special and the regular/standard (press 4 times filler) 51s have the same connector.

Do the 51 Demi pens use the same connector?

No. The demi aero has a smaller size connector. And demi aero both came with threaded (press 6 times) filler shroud as well the press 4 times press fit filler shroud. So the connector for each of these demi variation would be different though of the same size.

Demi vac, however, has the same connector as that of the standard /regular size vac 51.
