Greetings All

It has been a year since I have done an auction report. It has been another slow auction season, but I was able to pick up a few Parker items this year.

First up July picks. This auction was on Wed. or Thurs. at 3P.M. at an auctioneers headquarters. The items I picked up were from an estate from Chicago.

Sorry on the poor quality on the photo above. There is a shadowave in that lot.

That is a glass sign above.

Plenty of desk sets and pens. Prices were good wholesale prices.

Second up Aug. picks.

This auction I was only after one thing.

Pens were a bonus. They had two groups of pens in pen sleeves and had to bid for choice for the blind lots.

I went in a partnership with another bidder [ main competition ] and split the two lots with him. We took turns picking a pen, he went first.

Third up Sept. There were two auctions for the month and when looking at the first one I pass on the Parkers on that day. A whole lot of Vectors and

Vector parts [ rollerballs ] I told someone if one would buy the part boxes they could make plenty of vector wind chimes with the parts.

The seconded auction in Sept. was raining that morning keeping people away. That was good for me as my main competition was not at the auction.

I was the top dog that day.

First two photos above is what I snagged overall.

This lot above from the box to the right with two other 1st yr Jotter caps [ sold at the auction ] went high. You see the prize next to the box, 100mm

without a cap. [ I do have a donor cap that is missing two cap bands and the clip is loose. ] That will go and get restored next year.

If you ask, yes that is a 51 Vac with a demonstrator clear barrel. The color eludes me for the hood and blind cap.

I know farmboy & mitto when they see this post they will help me on the color on that P51 Vac.

On the far left above is a hard to find cap - action no tip protector Jotter with 1st yr cap. [ Now I have 3, blue, green & brown. ]

All in all for the three auctions I did alright for the season.

Wow. Mouth watering pen hauls, Ken. Envy you. And thaose desk sets! What great pieces you have grabbed.

The Vac demonstrator is a real treat. From what I see in the pictures the blind cap looks cardinal red.

mitto thanks. On that P51 Vac the hood color is the same as the blind cap. Each desk set had a pen taped to each one. You see the little price tags the previous owner had on them. You know that I did not pay that for them, maybe less than half.

Thanks for the information on the color of the P51. Waiting on farmboy to reply to have his take on the haul.

For my part I'm very much intrigued the chased pen with what looks like gold repousse. What does the imprint say?

It is a nice pen.

I particularly like that pearl and black pen next to the stand in the second photo. What is it?

Baptiste knew how to make a short job long

For love of it. And yet not waste time either.

It is a button filler with no imprint on the barrel at all. The nib is marked [ Parker Doufold Made In U.S.A. 26 ] Some wear on the barrel by the thread.

Must have had a cap on it in the past.

I didn't even notice the threads on the barrel, assuming it was a desk pen. Did many desk pens also have a cap?

good lick with the restorations

The suggestion of your phone's auto-spelling feature is ground-breaking. Imagine the potential:

-Vintage gold nibs taste better.

-Nibs are a known quantity. Saturated ink's where the spice's at.
