Pelikan 100N Magnum Emege Red Tortoise

Another acquisition for this year. One of my grail pen. Pelikan 100N Magnum Emege Red Tortoise. The only oversize Pelikan 100N pen ever issued by Pelikan. It was issued much earlier than Pelikan 100N circa 1935 for Portuguese market. Hence its obscure and rarity. This pen is the earliest version of the Magnum Emege with the word Emege at the cap top. The later version came with a cursive Emege word horizontally at the cap. There are some past posts in FPN about this pen.

Here are some of photos of the pen with accessories of that era. Enjoy!

Regards

Daeng

Beautiful find. On my must have list one day as well. Congrats on crossing that one off.

That has long been on my things to buy as soon as enough numbers show up in the lottery.

Beautiful pen. :puddle: :notworthy1:

Thanks all for your kind comments.

Here are two comparison photos between the Magnum and two M101Ns.

:yikes:

Actually, there is no "comparison," so to speak!!

Congratulations!!

You can't make a post like this and not tell us the story of how or where you acquired it! The thrill of the hunt is fun for all of us -- so how did you get it?!

Congrats by the way, it's gorgeous!

Gorgeous! The pen has a perfect flame pattern (which I love). Did the ink bottle come with the pen?

I acquiired the inkwell (with its box/paper) some years back before getting this Magnum.

Uh, possibly they're too expensive? I saw the re-issued Red Tortoise at a pen show a couple of years ago and it was way too pricy a pen for my budget.

Unfortunately I have the same problem with the M600 Pink, Turquoise and this year's Violet. And with some of the M620 Great Places pens, and of course the vintage 100s....

Doesn't mean I don't WANT these pens -- just that I can't AFFORD them....
