@Sinistral1

Good luck with your pen!  It was not necessarily a return, as there is still stock of these pens at some stores.  They had made 600-some pens in matte finish and 600-some pens in glossy finish for that PM1 MZG 2.0 release, which is a fair number.  No matter the pattern and the colors, it will be a very unique pen.  My two are very different from David's.  Atlas is a fantastic store, I've bought from them many times, and they are just great.  What finish did you select for your pen: matte or glossy?  I got both and both have their pros and cons.  Matte is very pleasantly tactile, glossy allows to see the full depth of the PM1 material, as the swirls of color travel inward and mix with translucent areas.

@Intensity My new pen is the glossy version.  I like the depth of view that finish offers, like you said, too.  Now I am just curious if the pen will come with a bottle of Leonardo ink and a pen sleeve which is what was offered by PW Akkerman.

Mine did not come with a sleeve, but a bottle of random colors of Leonardo ink was included the box.  One came with black ink and the other with sepia brown (orange-brown in the case of Leonardo).  My Bohemian Twilight Supernova was bundled with Turquoise.  The sleeve might be something P.W. Akkerman add, because I haven’t seen any mentions of one with this PM1 release.

I hope this is the right forum to post about my hunt for my Leonardo Momento Zero Grande 2.0 in Primary Manipulation 1.

I promise to take and post a picture or two of it when it’s firmly in my possession.

I first discovered the beautiful pens made by Jonathan Brooks after seeing the pen that David (dms525) got at a recent pen show.  Then, not coincidentally, I got an email from PW Ackerman advertising a special sale of a limited edition Leonardo Momento Zero Grande 2.0 in Primary Manipulation 1 that looked very much like David’s new (non Leonardo) pen.  The game was afoot!

I immediately put my pen in my basket and checked out, paying with PayPal.  I got the confirmation email in a few minutes, but shortly thereafter got another email saying that my pen was sold out.  Dang!  All hope was not lost, because PW Ackerman said they would contact Leonardo and see if there were any more of my pens in stock.

After waiting 5 whole days to get the news, it was not good.  Leonardo said they did not have any more of my pen on hand.  Double dang!

So, I started searching the internet to see if some pen seller might still have some in stock and I found one with a fine nib, which is what I wanted.  It was on offer at Atlas Stationers for a few dollars more and soon it was in my basket.  Here we go again, I thought.  This time it was an American seller, so I called them directly to get a verbal confirmation that my pen would arrive as promised.

I honestly had never heard of Atlas Stationers.  Has anybody here worked with them and if so, what is your opinion of their products and service?

I’ve read through this thread and thank you all for emboldening my desire for a Jonathan Brooks Leonardo pen.

I am glad you were able to get the pen you wanted. I hope it meets your expectations.

I am confused by Akkerman telling you they could not obtain this pen. Several European dealers are still listing it, and Leonardo's own web site indicates they have multiple items still available for direct purchase.

I’m confused as well about PW Akkerman’s inability to get additional pens from Leonardo.  I also saw them available directly from Leonardo and was willing to order from them when the one with a fine nib popped up from Atlas Stationers.  I should have it tomorrow to be able to let you know if it meets my expectations!

I have purchased other pens from them (and many inks), but not my Leonardo pens.

I just tried Vinta Sea and Sky, because I recently got it and wanted to try it out.  But I don’t think this feed likes shimmer.  I’m going to have to look around my collection and come up with something else.  My other titanium #8 nib is amazing with KWZ Walk Over Vistula.

That’s a good one!  Makes me think of fall leaves changing color and a bit of sky peeking through, but also of a mix of coffee and cream!

@Intensity Your impressions of my new Primary Manipulation 1 Leonardo pen are spot on.  It's like viewing an impressionist painting and discovering new vistas or objects each time you see it.  It was the cream in coffee aspect of the stock photo that I was initially captured by, so I am very happy with my new pen.

I have inked her up with an Orlando Pen Show exclusive sample provided by my friend @kestrel Robert Oster Purple New Orleans and she wrote beautifully out of the box with her fine steel nib.

The "Alga" spaghetti resin is my one Leonardo so far, a regular size MZ with a steel fine nib.  Been using Diamine Sherwood Green in it.  Had to fuss with the tines just a touch with brass sheet but writes like a dream now, not disappointed.

I just ordered a Novoli with an architect nib. Does anyone have experience with this nib?

I don't have a Leonardo Architect nib, but I do have a JoWo #6 nib with an architect grind from fpnibs dot com. My personal assessment is that it can be interesting for printing text. Otherwise, I don't find it even usable. YMMV, of course.

Thanks David.  And I meant Nuvola.
