Grey Arco(Celluloid) MZG with Ruthenium trim.  It's an interesting and sparkly mix.  Not quite to OMAS Arco standards yet but it's a step in the right direction.  Also a couple of other things i have gotten in the last few months.

Great set of recent acquisitions. Congratualtions!

I will be posting my two most recently delivered Leonardos really soon.

Happy writing!

Leonardo released the Momento Magico Abyss limited edition and the Momento Magico DNA at the same time. I found both irresistible, and they arrived a couple days ago. So far, I have only inked the MM DNA so far (with Leonardo Black), and its steel stub nib writes beautifully.

I had purchased the Furore Abyss LE when it was released in 2019, so I put the two pens in Abyss together for comparison photos.

Both have in-house, ebonite feeds. The Momento Magico has a very cool blue-colored feed.

Nib comparison. The MM DNA has a steel nib. The MM Abyss' nib is 14 Kt. Both are stubs.

Enjoy!

I have the Furore in Abyss as well as a standard Momento Zero.  My Abyss Magico is off the Special Edition page, major difference is a blue ink window and a different cap band.  Abyss is a really neat material.

Leonardo was again charged with making a limited edition pen for the 2022 Dutch Pen Show. The specification was that it be blue. Jonathon Brooks made the resin for a Momento Zero Grande pen, and it is gorgeous. I have No. 46/100 with a stub nib. Note the blue ebonite feed. Not so incidentally, this pen writes beautifully.

I am happy with the blue/white/purple balance in mine. I would love to see other pens of this series. Do you care to post a photo of yours?

Here we go.  There are only some hints of purple that you don't see on first glance.  I'm happy with it.

Wow, that is so different that I would have thought it would have been given a different name.  They are both gorgeous pens!

Thanks for posting the photos. Yes. Yours has more white. It is different but no less handsome.

Leonardo continues to innovate, and, in my opinion, most of their innovations are winners. A new model has appeared. Leonardo calls it "Momento Zero Grande 2." It is the size of a MZ Grande, but it has a small ink window that is hidden when the pen is capped, like the MZ Magico 2022 models. In addition, the shape of the section is changed - for the better IMO - and it has lost the metal ring at the nib end of the section.

The first release of the MZG 2 was a limited edition of 43 pens in Bob Dupras' "Ocean Cenote" resin. Mine is No. 22/43, and it's a beauty. I had it fitted with a 1.1mm 14Kt gold stub. The stub is very crisp and quite suitable for my italic handwriting.

I am still waiting for Leonardo's in-house 14Kt nib to be available.

I have an inhouse 14K Stub.  It is huge, wet and glorious.  The nib pattern is nice.  We'll see how the #8's are down the line.

Is your reference to a #8 nib wishful thinking, or have you heard this is planned?

Wishful thinking at this point.  I'm very happy with the #6 stub so far.

One of Leonardo's most recent releases and one of the first with a gold nib made in-house.

195364510_LeonardoMZGMasterpiece.jpg.8d3e74c787e08079294a4816c92fc964.jpg

I first inked this pen with a Leonardo ink. The nib was so wet, there was very little thick/thin line differentiation, and I was disappointed. I tried a couple other dry inks and settled on Montegrappa Chocolate Brown. It was the best of those I tried, and over the next week or more, the nib settled down and wrote a much crisper line. I am very happy with it now.

This pen has a somewhat special meaning for me. Leonardo's first release, as far as I know, was a Momento Zero in Rosewood Ebonite - a limited edition of 10 pens. I was able to buy 00/10! It had a Bock stub nib and wrote beautifully. That was in March, 2018. My first Leonardo.

Here are the first MZ and my latest Leonardo together:

Great review and pics. Waiting for mine to arrive

Thank you!

Which nib are you getting? Please let us know how you like it.

Note that, from my experience, these nibs take a week or so to settle down to a steady state. My hunch is this is mostly about the ebonite feed saturating.

Happy writing!
