Congratulations! That is a beautiful pen. I have one with the same nib.

Is the nib too wet for your purposes? Mine was on the dry side. In fact, I found Leonardo inks (which are rather dry, in my experience) too dry for it. I ended up inking mine with  Iroshizuku Tsukushi with excellent results.

Happy writing!

David

Hello David, I inked up with the Leonardo Ink it came with. Seemed pretty juicy though in my opinion not extreme. I do have a bottle of ASA-GAO Iroshizuku I will try later and see if that makes a difference. I also have a bottle of Noodlers Black.

Iroshizuku inks are among the wettest I know, so if your nib is already very wet, that might not be the best choice. Noodlers Black is pretty forgiving. For a drier ink, think about Diamine, Stipula, Pelikan.

Couple quick shots of what came in the mail today.  Need some warmer weather so i can get outside with something other than my phone for pictures.

Some days ago this beautiful demonstrator arrived from Roma: Leonardo X Stilo e Stile with a gorgeous music nib. Great fun!

Everyone's Leonardos are gorgeous, but this one looks perfect. I'd love a demonstrator version. Congratulations!

@Lynx3008That’s a beautiful frosty demo, congratulations!

@mauckcg Congratulations on your Arco Brown, always a stunning material. That blue swirl is very nice too. Is this a variation of the Primary Manipulation? I think I like it better than the very colorful ones, a personal preference of course.

I wonder when Leonardo will do a crystal clear demo 🙂 That would be something to see!

I believe that was an LE from Casa Della Stilografica for their 75th Anniversary - and yes, in a variation of PM. I considered it, but didn't end up picking one up. Nice to see it in a collection though!

Arctic Blast is the name and it is a PM from Casa Della Stilografica.  I missed the general release PM's but was able to snag one of these.  Gorgeous pen, and more pictures will be forthcoming as the weather warms up and i can get outside with my camera.

Handsome pen, and the ink really sets off the red in the pen.  The feed is red as well, I believe.

More beautiful than the photos I saw before ordering mine! I hope mine is as stunning as yours!

Ha! If mine comes with that much red in it I'm going to scream! I specifically asked how much variation in the material was in this recipe, and was told that the head person at LOI said there was very little variation, that they pretty much all looked like the original photos. Which is what I like.

My first Brooks - the Vesuvio - burned me in this way, and I tried to get a handle on this one. I don't want to do "catch and release" and I'm happy to play with a little variation, but the above colorway is not was was advertised through visual means. Imagine ordering an Arco Verde pen and having some other color intruding in the material.

This is all very personal, and obviously not meant to sway anyone else's aesthetics in any way - we're all different in our tastes. At the end of the day, though, it is a lot of money to be rolling the dice on how a pen is going to look. With this much variation, they should show 3 different pens to give a better idea of what one might get.

Geez... fingers crossed.

As we say in Fresno, de gustibus non disputandum est.

Good luck, Jon!

Not to mention caveat emptor. Thanks!
