I recently added a few Leonardos to the collection, so I figured it was time to update the family portrait. Still room for more! I'm looking forward to getting my Cuspides...

Enjoy some eye candy!

Doug

They look so great altogether!

Love the Amazonas, Primary Manipulation, Sunflower, Arlecchino and the third from the left on the first picture!

You really should do a picture sorted by color only. I bet the blue ones look great side by side.

So no ebonite (yet)?

I'm just not a fan of ebonite...not sure why. A combination of the feel and smell I think. Some of those colors are incredible, though...That Etna is really something.

That third one on the first tray is the Foresta, a LE for Casa Della Penna in Napoli. It's a funky one!

I've got a pair of Cuspides, in grey and brown, and an Arco on order, so there will be more. Though it's likely I'll let go of a few of these- it's getting a little out of control!

best,

Doug

Vicary: Congratulations on your vast collection of Leonardos! The word Leomania immediately came to my mind when I saw your colorful photos :D .

Michael R.: I do like ebonite, my second favorite pen material after celluloid. Interestingly I have seen birth of various beautiful ebonite material, with both Leonardo and Santini. I am used to the red mottled hard rubber from vintage pens, but the new patterns and colors are very tempting!

Hey Doug,

Thanks for updating the family portrait again.

Looking good! Actually, very good!

But before you part with any of the kids, make sure you update the family portrait at least one more time with the Cuspides and Arco included.

:)

Best,

Mark

New Pen Day! I had this Speranza arrive yesterday. My first ebonite pen. I really enjoy how different they look in the sun vs shade

Nice :-)

And a very classic material and look. Love the cap band pattern.

Cheers

Michael

PS: looks like the first Cuspides have arrived in stores!

Looks like the same Ebonite but more black in it than the Olive MZ had. Neat!

This is not the typical glamour shot: a few days ago someone on reddit came up with a meme pairing pens with plants. Seemed like a good occasion for a quick-and-casual photo of my recent LOI MZG "Vesuvio":

Wow, Jon! Is that your new avatar? I know barbershops have been closed in many communities, but not for THAT long. I've been cutting my own hair. Of course, I don't have that much anymore.

Anyway, nice pen!

I received a trio of new additions to my Leonardo collection yesterday. These are the new Momento Zero Grande Cuspides. I opted for the Nocciola and the Mineral Grey...at the last minute had the opportunity to pick up the Olive Green as well. I'm pretty happy with them- the colors are very nice. The Mineral Grey is really bright and eye-catching, and the Olive Green is more subtle. Beautiful additions to the Leonardo family!

These look stunning! Congratulations! The mineral grey looks like color of blue sky and white clouds. I must say that these all look so much better than when I first saw them in a static photo with no light reflection, and really quite beautiful.

That's the Amazonas celluloid from Novelli. It's a limited run in red and green celluloid, originally sourced for the Delta Papillon LE. Beautiful material, almost has an Arco quality.

Thanks, did strike me as very nice...

What do you think of the Cuspide? I like the straight section, but those threads worry me somewhat... although I can see they are sort of recessed?...

They really do look stunning!

I specially like how the metal threads between the body and the section blend into the resin in the Mineral Grey and the Nocciola. A great trio of pens you have added to your already astonishing collection!

I don't have a Leonardo, but I'm becoming seriously tempted. Is there a size guide for the various models to be found somewhere?

Standard and Grande are the two sizes. Speranza's are the same size as the Grande's, and the Tredici is between the regular and Grande.
