Zürich Pen Shop Recommendation

BCL-2

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow (fountain) pen enthusiasts,

I will be visiting Zürich, Switzerland in the foreseable future and people told me I can get Caran d'Ache pens for much better prices than in other countries. So I'm looking for a good shop in Zürich where I could go and take a look and hopefully buy some beauties.

My priorities are:

  • good prices,
  • good acccessibility from the city center with public transport or by foot
  • good selection of Caran d'Ache pens. I'm interested in both ballpoint and foutnian pens, depends on what budget I will be able to have.

So if you know any good shops which fill some or all of these criteria then do not hesitate to share your recommendation.

Thank you for your help, I appreciate it.

2 Parker Frontiers, 1 Lamy Safari, 1 MB 146, 1 Pilot MR and new friends: M805 in blue and an M 420. Yay!

Current holy grail: Caran d'Ache Leman Bicolor in saffron or possibly white. Not yet sure.

I think that there is a standardisation of proces on all the major brands. I wouldnt expect bargains, especially in expensive Switzerland.

My favourite pen shop in Zurich is here:

https://landolt-arbenz.ch/

It is in the centre, about 1 mile walk from the railway station.

Landolt Arbenz moved recently (away from Bahnhofstrasse, close to Paradeplatz: Poststrasse 10), easily found on google maps.
Fantastic selection, but expensive.

For Caran d'Ache, I recommend their store: Löwenstrasse 19, 8001 Zürich (ca. 10 min from Main Train Station).
Official prices, quite ok.

Bookbinders in Sihlstrasse 38 (close to Train station and Bahnhofstrasse) has a nice selection of Lamys and great notebooks.
Good prices but carry only Lamy.

Fabrikat (Militärstrasse 76, ca. 10-15 min from Train Station) has Kawecos and other unusual stuff. Very cute shop.

Prices vary (for some items ok, for some expensive)

Papeterie Zumstein is a classic (Rennweg 19, in between Train Station and Landolt Arbenz),

ok prices.

Manor (Bahnhofstrasse 75, close to Main Train Station) is a Department Store with quite a good collection

and good prices (pens and notebooks).

Have fun!
